Art Preview - New Hiroko Route CG!

Note - You know the drill by now: SPOILERS ahead! This one concerns Hiroko's original storyline, about halfway through. Click the links in the article below if you want to see the full image previews of the upcoming CG. 

My artist has been on a roll with the new images lately! Here, he's drawn for me one of the earlier scenes on Hiroko's route where Kyou's convinced her to assist him with his plans to do a stage show for the upcoming culture festival. Hiroko's had to admit that Kyou's penlight-driven sports therapy was amazingly helpful, so she kinda feels obligated to return the favour here regardless of what she thinks of him. 

Anyway, on this version of the story Kyou proposes trying to trick Hiroko's brain into thinking her feet are stuck to the floor. She has no idea how he's gonna pull that off, but it's not lewd so whatever; knock yourself out, Kyou...

Of course, we know how this stuff turns out by now. After another quick session with the penlight, Hiroko might as well be welded to the living room rug for all she knows. Kyou leaves her alone for a few minutes to test the strength of the suggestion (as well as mess with her a bit), and when he returns, he peeks back into the room and finds her just as stuck as before.

Hiroko's so preoccupied in trying to pull her foot from the floor that she doesn't notice Kyou's return until he walks right in and addresses her. Cue her attention snapping to him in embarrassment before she tries to pass this off as no big deal and anyway, she can move whenever she wants. She just happens to like standing right where she is, so there!

Now, the composition of this picture isn't exactly as I envisaged it. I wanted a full body view of her so we could see her feet flat on the ground and completely unyielding, but it seems my artist wasn't convinced he could pull that off satisfactorily. There was a compromise and the result still looks pretty great! It's enough to sell what's supposed to be happening anyway.

There was also some confusion regarding Hiroko's positioning, which led to her initially facing the wrong way. So as a bonus, here's the rejected sketch of her struggling and here's the rejected sketch of her being surprised by Kyou. They look great sans context, but it definitely looks like she's moved her feet after getting up from the couch. Not to mention she's supposed to fall forward onto the coffee table from this position a little later!
