Possum Creek Games (Tentative) Project Schedule 2021-2022

Hey everyone, Jay here. So as we move forward supporting other creators and developing Possum Creek Games into its own publishing house, I wanted to talk a bit about what that's looking like over here and how we're moving forward. I also wanted to show off all the projects we have planned down the line, in one form or another.

A couple notes!

1. This isn't secret, but it's not quite ready to hit the whole internet yet. Tell your friends, but maybe don't scream from the rooftops on public twitter about it. We're planning to do a proper announcement or two soon, so consider this a teaser for all of you.

2. This is tentative, so it's liable to change at any time. This is mainly because Grub and I are both still very disabled, so getting a release out there might get delayed by one factor or another. Consider this aspirational, but don't get let down if the dates shift back a bit.

So without further ado, let's get into the projects we're going to be involved with in 2021 and 2022!

TIDE BREAKER by NICK BUTLER (JUNE 22)

While we're not publishing Tide Breaker, we are an enthusiastic and super hyped sponsor of this cinematic tabletop RPG system by Nick Butler. We've been helping Nick behind the scenes prepare for the Kickstarter in a bunch of different ways, and we're so excited for how gorgeous the final product is going to be. Tide Breaker is going to launch on June 22nd, but there's gonna be some goodies for folks who subscribe to the project early, so ... go do that! 

VENTURE & DUNGEON (JUNE-JULY)

We've been helping Riley out with Venture & Dungeon behind the scenes, but we're taking over the conclusion of the project (along with its distribution and release). These two games are a gorgeous combination of Belonging Outside Belonging — introspective heroic fantasy and teenagers having fun playing old timey wargames. We'll have more information (along with interior art) coming in a Kickstarter update on Monday, and I'll be releasing Dungeon to all the Rapscallion backers once the layout is done.

INSCRUTABLE CITIES by JULIAN JARBOE (OCTOBER-NOVEMBER)

In the fall of 2021 we're going to be releasing Inscrutable Cities by the award-winning author Julian K. Jarboe as a zine. Inscrutable Cities is a solo RPG about exploring an impossible and beautiful city, and we're mega excited to help make it a reality.

OUR HAUNT by JAMILA NEDJADI (JANUARY-FEBRUARY)

One of Jammi's first games is the wonderful haunted found family mystery of Our Haunt, and for the past several months we've been working with him in order to revise it for a softcover release in 2021. We're mega excited to make something new with him, bringing the found family elements to the foreground and emphasizing his creative vision. YAZEBA'S BED & BREAKFAST KICKSTARTER (MARCH-APRIL 2022)

Eh, this? Just a little thing we're squeezing in. Don't worry about it. ;)

THE GRAND GUIGNOL by LUKE JORDAN (MAY-JUNE 2022)

There's a few games from the wild woods we're hoping to publish, but Grand Guignol is set to be the first of our collaborations, and it's one of my favorites. A gothic horror TTRPG that has a deeply innovative take on gender in a monstrous 19th century England, the Grand Guignol is already one of my favorite BOB games ever written. 

AND WHAT'S NEXT?

The next few years are gonna be some awesome ones for Possum Creek Games, and while none of this is set in stone, I hope you'll accompany us as we expand the world of Indie TTRPG publishing and get more cool books by more cool people out into the world. 

Please remember this isn't a Big Official Announcement — one of those will be coming later this month/next month. Think of this as a teaser, and also a promise that stuff is happening here, even if we can't immediately share it.
