Stationmaster 0.7.1: Faction Leaders and Quality of Life

This is the most significant patch so far. It adds so much that it's hard to sum up quickly, but it's meant to bring Stationmaster 2 from "proof of concept" to "truly playable game." There's always more to do, of course, but this covers a lot more of the basics.

Special thanks to the QA volunteers, including Arkan Ascantii, Twisted Metal (and others who prefer to be anonymous), who agreed to play through an early build of this. They saved everyone else from some pretty major bugs, and had some great ideas for tweaks that made it into this build.

Thanks for this! I'm looking into a hotfix now to fix the UI scaling and some other stuff. I'm planning on replacing the entire inspection UI in the next patch, so hopefully that will address most of the rest. Edit: Accidentally posted instead of adding a newline.

Came back here after awhile and after starting a new game, some thoughts/impressions/issues, separated into categories * Unplayable issues (subjective for me, of course) ** The camera is incredibly janky, both in the station and especially in the slave view ** The UI is still absolutely tiny in most places. I actually had to use windows magnifier on the rules assistant to not give myself a headache (on a 1080p screen so this absolutely should not be a problem) * Performance ** Changing a slave's clothing takes a painfully long time to actually change * Misc pain points ** Shift click doesn't seem to work to place multiple buildings? ** Rooms/wall placement is still an irritating chore. It would be much preferred if rooms came with walls, and we could opt to delete them/place doors afterwards rather than the other way around. (Doors could also allow for some interesting population controls, or just thematic/visual differences) * Nice to haves ** Clothing options still very limited, with lots of clipping issues. Would be nice to have options you might actually put a slave into as well ** Station visual themes: Nothing wrong with the sterile white theme, but it would be nice if we could choose from visual themes for a different (and less eye watering) aesthetic ** Expand rules assistant beyond just assignment (ex. clothing) I really like your work but I feel we're getting a little off the rails here. I couldn't even get to testing any new features because the core gameplay loop was too frustrating. I feel like the priority should be UI/UX polish, not any new features (not very flashy I know, but better to do now rather than allow the technical and design debt accumulate) Cheers
