Updated Interior

Something that always bothered me about the original Stationmaster setup was the claustrophobic corridors. They didn't really fit the image of your station as a place of obscene opulence, furniture had to be pretty small to fit the vertical space constraints, and lighting was always pretty wonky (Unity's lighting engine wasn't really happy with "let's just make everything infinite in every direction.")

In Stationmaster 2, each floor has a virtual sky that provides ambient light, and is only visible from the inside. The interior is also about five times taller, which opens up space for much grander furniture items. The fixed size also means that lighting can be baked, which vastly improves the look of the models inside.

In future versions, you should be able to choose a color scheme for each floor, which will give you a lot more leeway in setting a feel for your station.

As always, there's still a lot to do (I still don't know how interior walls are going to work yet, and there are still a few lighting glitches here and there), but I'm pretty happy with the pace of progress.

Very nice lighting! Have you considered a solution where the interior walls are not all true "full walls" that go to the ceiling but rather a collection of glass tubes and/or other partial height surfaces that merely help direct traffic flow but not impeding the view of your mighty works? In my mind I have a picture of the 1970s/1980s futuristic and very spaceous corridors seen on shows/movies like Logans Run, the more claustrophobic but faster "people movers" from The Jetsons, or the underwater aquarium tubes in Jaws 2? 3?. You could even fundamentally change the nature of corridoors so that the walkways for diferent structures are elevated above the "floor" and creating them literally becomes a drag between two doorways. That could perhaps lead to some pretty interesting pathway design options and maybe help give each of the floors a more unique feel? And come to think of it... do our servants and other "authorized personnel" perhaps need special service corridoors/tunnels/ a gate system/ whatever for rapid transit that our normal guests and residents do not? Thinking sort of like the backside of a themepark or a zoo. Whatever direction you decide to go, I think you'll make it work!
