Rise of the Exalted 0.4.0 Beta: Living Cathedral Now available for Soldiers
Added 2021-06-07 02:45:04 +0000 UTCIt's all set! Version 0.4.0 adds five new buildings and a new resource type (food), as well as pathfinding and numerous little improvements.

New Resource: Food
- Food can be gained by raiding peasant farms on the world map or constructing fungus farms on your cathedral. Non-Exalted residents will fall unconscious and eventually die if you don't have enough.
Modified Resource: Essence
- Exalted (with the exception of the player character) must now consume Essence to survive. You can extract it either by sacrificing captives or assigning them to Extractors.
New Buildings:
- Combat Hanger - A place to store your soldiers until they're ready to be dropped into battle
- Food Trough - A way for your non-Exalted residents to avoid death by starvation.
- Fungus Farm - Passively produces food. An alternative to constantly raiding farms.
- Barracks - This now functions as a sleeping location for your non-Exalted residents.
- Essence Pool - A place for your Exalted residents to consume collected Essence from captives.
Pathfinding:
- Characters will now walk around the cathedral to get to food and sleeping locations. This makes cathedral layout significantly more important.
Other changes:
- You can now rotate structures during construction. Hopefully this will help make more pathable (and just aesthetic) layouts.
- Several improvements to lighting and general aesthetics. It's not where I want it yet, but it's moving in the right direction.
- A few bug fixes here and there.
