Rise of the Exalted 0.4: Living Cathedral Draft Design
Added 2021-05-03 14:37:27 +0000 UTCI'm pretty excited about this because I've been writing events for two weeks, and this means the code is finally going to get some love.
New Mechanics:
- Food: Feeding an army isn't easy. They will need fungus farms and a cafeteria. Exalted will also need a place to consume Essence.
- Sleep: Your minions will need sleep from time to time to stay productive.
- Pathfinding: People will now have to walk around the cathedral. This means building for efficiency.
New Buildings:
- Dormitory: A place for your captives to sleep when they're not working.
- Training Ground: Replaces the barracks. This will be a more active structure for soldiers to use during the day.
- Cafeteria: A place for your captives to eat.
- Essence Pool: A place for your Exalted to "eat."
- Fungus Farm: Grows nutritious fungus to keep your captives alive.
Other features:
- Rotating structures: These were a luxury before, but pathfinding makes them necessary.
- This patch will increase the complexity of resources, so there's going to be more information about structures and assignments on the cathedral map.
- I'm considering adding an option to teleport between the two maps to cut down on time spent hovering.
