Rise of the Exalted 0.2 Draft Design: Events

Hey all!

Now that 0.1 is out (and break time's over), it's time for me to get started on 0.2. I ended up pushing events out of 0.1 to fix some more urgent issues, but they're coming in 0.2. Once that's set up, I'll open up voting for new features.

Draft Design:

I envision three types of events in all:

Map Events: These will be triggered by finding and visiting locations of interest on the map. These might be anything from princesses locked in towers to proud northern castles that can be raided. Completing these will cost Essence (depending on the amount of power you have to wield), and provide other resources.

Cathedral Events: These interactions will trigger semi-automatically on the people living in your cathedral. Characters with a pending event will get something like an exclamation point over their head, and you'll be able to talk to them normally to see what's going on.

Diplomatic Events: These will be triggered by talking to other factions at the diplomacy table. Some other faction leaders might see you as an opportunity to advance their own causes. Others might try to burn you at the stake. Depending on how 0.2 goes, I might end up pushing this to a future diplomacy-focused patch.

Also on the list:

Missing audio sliders, intermittent crash bug, loud main menu, and everything else you've reported here and in the Discord. If you run into anything, please let me know. I might not reply to every post, but I do read them, and they make it onto my list.

No worries. I honestly didn't notice. I originally marketed Stationmaster on 8chan, and nothing since has even registered as dickish by comparison.
