Stationmaster 0.24a Released: Betray All the Factions!
Added 2019-08-09 15:46:00 +0000 UTCThis update adds the new factions with event chains, expands the main quest, fixes a problem that was hiding most of the events for the old factions, and makes some improvements to slave graphics. I also fixed a ton of bugs, as usual.

New Factions
Several small factions have arrived on the scene. They have a wide variety of things to offer, ranging from unique artifacts, to insights into Entropy's devices, to mild frustration.
I'm not going to go into too much detail on these to avoid spoilers. They represent quite a lot of new content though.
Existing Faction Leader Improvements
Apparently, I goofed massively when adding the faction leader dates, and dates after the first were not triggering properly. I've fixed the bug, which essentially added in the 20-or-so faction leader dates I thought I had put in months ago.
Technically, that makes this the largest writing update so far by a wide margin.
Slave Display
Slaves with high strength will now look appropriately ripped. If there is a strong backlash to this, I might add an implant that reverses the change, but I find the diversity refreshing.
Clipping on clothing has been substantially improved, which made this change possible.
Other Changes
- Some new events now cause new ships to show up outside your station.
- Planets now have a small chance of containing quirks that buff various aspects.
- Reduced polygon count of warp gate, which should help performance when looking in that direction.
- Added several new artifacts that can be acquired through dealing with the new factions.
- Fixed several small typos and bugs in existing events
- You can now attempt to kidnap the Avatar of Entropy during your first meeting (emphasis on attempt)
Bug Fixes
- Room counts now start at 1 and not 0 (I blame a lifetime of programming)
- Fixed a bug that prevented the Eye of Entropy from working on stars
- Fixed a bug that could cause the event system to crash and stop throwing new events until the game was restarted.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the PC from orgasming when having sex with a non-slave character.
- Genocide stone no longer breaks on high-population worlds
- Planet population is now capped at around 2 trillion.
- Old characters can now get pregnant if they have been de-aged (or are from long-lived species).
- Fixed a bug that caused some characters to be un-clickable when walking
- Fixed a bug that caused some character's map pips to become invisible when returning from the galaxy map
- Fixed a bug that prevented you from buying menial slaves
- Fixed an intermittent bug that caused notification text to be cut off in a triangle shape.
- The character camera no longer behaves strangely when you zoom in too far
For Modders:
New Preconditions:
- {SelectSlaveByNotTag devoted} Selects a slave that doesn't have the given tag
New Functions:
- [SaveSlave|variablename] Saves a slave to a variable. Can be used for cloning or temporary removal
- [LoadSlave|variablename] Loads a slave from a variable. Use in conjunction with SaveSlave.
- [weight] and [fat] adjust the active character's weight
Comments
Events really are too rare. I left the game running for 2 hours yesterday and it had generated only 8 events. 5 of which were generic like Slave born and Insomnia. I don't mind waiting for the big events to pop up but by the time I've conquered even one faction the game is too laggy to enjoy without restarting it every 30 mins or so. Also the textures on the Research workbenches are broken in 0.24a. They are the same color as the triangle Netscape mentioned. I also noticed that the game starts to lag a lot earlier. Mine started when I got to about 50 slaves and 50 tourists. Removing all Fuckdolls/workers/bioreactors helped a little but it's still not as fast as it was in 0.23 :)

2019-08-11 10:31:47 +0000 UTCgreat update. however, i ffound a few bugs: - the rules assistant seems completly down -the star map has a triangle shaped buggedout zone on the left side kind of like if the scrren was wrecked - this i don't know if it really is a bug but all my ships go in repair mode after an attack even if they weren't damaged
