Exo Experiments

I've started experimenting with different ways of handling the new exos, and I need data. Please let me know which of the following styles appeal to you. Unless there's broad consensus that something is terrible, I will try to include it as an option, so please only vote for things you would personally enjoy seeing in game

Note that these are all relatively rough, and will all look a bit better once properly implemented (except for vanilla, which is just using the existing exo system with some new assets).

If you're interested in the new exo content, but aren't feeling any of the below options, please let me know here, on the Discord, or anonymously on the survey. This isn't exactly my area, and I'm going to be relying on your feedback a lot more than usual.

Style A: Vanilla

Style B: Hybrid

Style C: Complete (Note: This won't work with face sliders, but will have expressions)

i think a mix of the hybrid and vanilla ones would be most interesting. As it is now the vanilla is more or less just a regular slave and the hybrid is terror incarnate. maybe the vanilla one with an animalistic nose and eyes etc?

Jaevulen

I agree on that point

ValkyriaDawg

i think hybrid needs to go a tiny bit more towards human looking

The hybrid kinda terrifies me, but vanilla and complete seems ok :3

I wouldn't mind A but I'd prefer Exo's to be more like B or C. Oddly, that seems to be just the one getting the majority votes. A looks like a human that's been partially TF'ed to have some minor non-human features applied, where as the other two look more like major modifications or even proper non-human in origin. Also, I'd have to agree that furries are fine, but I think Exo's should include actual alien features. The current Exo's are prime examples of that.

While I do have furry interests, I am more interested in some more alien looking races as opposed to furry races for a game like this. I'm talking races like Star Trek's Klingons, Cardassians, Trill, Andorians, Bajorans, etc. and Star Wars' Twi'leks / Togruta (let's face it they are nearly identical in appearance), Zabrak, Kaminoans, Bith, Codru-Ji, Nautolan, etc. and Mass Effect's Asari, Turians Salarians, Quarians, etc. When I think aliens, these races are more what I picture rather than anthropomorphic animals (aka furries). This is a space station after all, and the Exos are alien races right, not humans with animal qualities? I'm not sure what to vote for here. (I just know I DON'T Like the vanilla option.)

I'm all for variety but the Complete reminds me of more just someone wearing a giant mask, though I'd need to see it in action. Only so much you can infer from a still shot. I don't know if there's a way you could emulate the Complete and Hybrid with clothing options so you could mix and match effects. I'm leaning in the direction of more Vanilla/Hybrid with options for more accessories to enhance their 'alien' nature. With that in mind I don't know how hard it would be to make more 'aliens' in the vein of the Eoll, Eko, and Ataran. Pulling inspiration from the fantasy-themed like the Kort and Fae, some Lizardfolk (maybe turtlegirls with greenskin and a backshell) or Djinni or Arachnid or Vampiric (just add fangs lol) might be other inspirations. I know I'm rambling, will think on it a bit more too.

I'm largely in your boat. My favorite by far is vanilla, and I likely wouldn't play with the heavier furry settings, but I'm trying to make the game as broadly appealing as possible. The feminine khajit textures mod is a fantastic bit of reference material though, and that might be another option

Currently I just like the idea of the vanilla, just add things like tails, wings, ears, unnatural skin hues, and maybe different eye styles and it would be fine for me. If fur is to be implemented I think less would be more for this. In other words adding fur near the hands and feet, kind of like paws, and keeping areas like the chest, stomach, and genitals more bare. A good example of this would be the Skyrim mod Feminine Khajiit Textures ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62193 ). Now to be fair I'm not a complete furry, however I don't mind it, so furries might disagree with me.
