Sneak Peek: New Face Generator
Added 2018-12-31 19:59:16 +0000 UTCHolidays are over, which means development is back into full swing. Over the last few days, I completely rewrote the face generator, and I think it's finally ready to show off (along with one of the new hairstyles that will be in the next update).
The new algorithm works by combining a library of hand-sculpted faces into new ones. It still has a decent amount of variety, but not nearly as many duds.
It's also moddable. In 0.19, adding new face presets will be as easy as clicking on the "Export" button on the slave inspection screen, and placing the exported preset into "FemaleFaces" directory. After that, the face generator will begin to use it as a basis for future characters.
