As You Like It is based on a short work named "The Meeting of Myself", where a young man is confronted by future versions of himself who can not get along. In this song, these different versions of himself are after the same girl. I personally interpret these different "hims" to be the reflection of his heart and the different sides of it he doesn't fully understand and is afraid to share. However, the thought of his love ending up with a form of himself that is not fully true is unbearable. So in a way, the intervention and display of all of these different sides helps him to show his full character to the girl he loves. This ultimately helps him find acceptance with himself and by the girl.
As You Like It, by Shakespeare, also plays with mistaken identities leading to true love and understanding- hence the title of Eve's song!
