If you reverse engineer the dates, that scene takes place at earliest the late 60s and Dipper and Mabel were born in 1999. Pretty young to be a grandad but just the right age to have kids of your own

You have to feel bad for both Stan's, Stan didn't mean to break Ford's experiment back then, he was just being an idiot, he went through a lot because of it, you can't blame Ford for being mad though.
