They used the official names of various Deities in Dungeons and Dragons (and a few in other games like it) for example the Dawnfather was originally called Pelor. Whereas Pike originally worshipped Sarenrae. When they made the show, they'd couldn't use the Gods' actual names. Due to copyright issues from Wizards of the Coast (who makes Dungeons and Dragons and have the name Pelor copyrighted) and Paizo (who makes Pathfinder where Sarenrae is from) so they were forced to use generic titles. That both gods held, but were generic enough that it'd be harder to get sued over using.
