2023-01-01 01:49:07 +0000 UTCthis episode really shows the dichotomy of rick's inner conflict, where on one hand he's desperate for connection, and on the other hand he's repulsed by it. it causes him to avoid expressing a really deep-seeded part of himself that he's constantly repressing with alcohol. i think rick wants to be able to express that part of himself but every time he's done so in the past, he just ends up alone again usually because of it. so now he just avoids it like the plague.
