And why Rin's own Archer took such an imperious attitude with her before she used her Command Seal on her. As for the whole fuckery with the clocks, I think that may have been Tokiomi's doing. When he wrote the will for Rin, he had no idea that Gilgamesh and Kirei were going to betray him. So chances are he left everything laid out for her to re-summon Gilgamesh when her time came to participate in the Grail War. Of course Rin has a mind of her own and planned to summon a Sabre instead. But again Tokiomi set up a spell to set the clocks back an hour. Which would lead to Rin summoning at a time when her Mana wasn't at its peak. Meaning given that the only remaining servants would be Sabre and Archer, she'd fail in summoning a Sabre and inevitably get an Archer instead. Of course since then Gilgamesh now has a mortal body and probably isn't summonable as a Servant anymore. Plus there's the whole Gilgamesh betraying him thing. Nice going Tokiomi, you nearly got your daughter killed by a treasonous servant.

2022-08-01 13:12:47 +0000 UTCClarifying some of the info you're getting in this episode: The holy grail war takes place every 10 years, this is 10 years after Fate/Zero (Fate Zero was the prequel to this). Rin wanted to summon Saber because Saber is considered the class with the best overall stats. This doesn't necessarily mean its the best servant (Archer from Fate Zero being stupidly overpowered for example) since individual Heroic Spirits vary in strength. Classes just give various bonuses and penalties (for example berserker being insane but having a boost to its stats). You already saw Rin and Sakura, the red haired boy named Kiritsugu is the boy Kiritsugu adopted at the end of Fate Zero. Also, side fact, this series also has an abridged series which is hilarious, it's got the same voices as Kirito and Asuna from the Sword art online abridged series. Would be great if could watch that after we finish this so you get all the in jokes.
