He both stated the obvious out and gave Kin an out from scrutiny XD Law is very smart to point out that Luffy and Kid will simply do as they like without any regard to their actual plans. So its wise to plan according to them being reckless. I think the manga refers to the two of them + Zoro as "Team Idiots" or something.
