Who humiliated Waver for writing a paper that challenged established thinking that only Mages with a long history of mage-craft can produce powerful mages. While Waver is from a family that has only been practicing only three generations, whereas his teacher's have been for, I wanna say eleven. Hence, why he was so pissed about Waver stealing the artifact that would've allowed him to summon Rider.

The Berserker class can turn any object he holds into his noble phantasm weapon, that's why the lamp post piece he was using as a staff turned all evil looking. But since it's transformed using magic, lancer's spear which negates magic was able to slice it apart easily. It helps knowing this about berserker since he uses his abilities on a bunch of different weapons later in the series.
