My belief, fostered by liberals who speak candidly, is that democrats want to take away guns from law abiding citizens in the same vein that Hitler, Mao, and Stalin did. Thereby making it easier for government control. It only removes gun from those who follow the law, not the criminals. I don’t have the time to cite the studies that bolster my argument.

I know my hometown of Chicago is a common political talking point, but please research the facts. It is a very short commute to Wisconsin and Indiana (you can be in Indiana from downtown Chicago in less than 1 hour). Neither WI or IN requires licenses or permits to purchase a gun and they don't require waiting periods. Gangs in Chicago (and even homeowners) simply drive across the state line to pick up weapons. You can't do this as easily in Los Angeles! I encourage anyone citing Chicago gun stats to google around and examine some of the research on how the Chicago gun supply works. Thanks!

Gun control, which is a braid statement, is not the answer. Ask Chicago how that’s going. They have the highest murder rate in the country. It’s a mental health and broken home issue. We need to be able to intervene when we see the signs, like the Parkland murderer. This country has gotten too politically correct.

You mean the second amendment.. The first amendment is freedom of speech, religion, press, and assembly.

I can't believe that made national news. Our 2nd amendment in our constitution which is the right to bear arms has a very racist history and no one acknowledges it. Our constitution is a mess and it's never been changed in the 240 years since it was made. The politicians are all bought out the NRA so they won't or at least haven't made any gun control laws to protect us. It's honestly scary, we have a militarized police force and mentally unsound people who can get guns.

We here in the U.S. have such s crisis with guns it is beyond ridiculous. It’s so sad.
