Imp Sketch Revision Feedback Post

It would be onerous to a degree. If the data format for scenes were not to change (so that every mod doesn't break), the definition of the Imp file itself would have to include the alternative image file references, and group them as a set. Then new code has to be written to load randomly between alternate sets when scenes say to put an Imp. And keep in mind, any time the scene says to show an expression/variant that one image set doesn't have (probably the first one), that alternate will just have to ignore it. Depending, the new code may be a lot of work or it may be a lot more work.

Definitely think the new art direction is a direct improvement over the original. I like the pose feel much more dynamic than flat over the first version.

Well, needing a new commission to add Expressions doesn't bend to player nor author preference, it's just a fact. Sass isn't the only appeal of the Imp though. There are many, many different imps... Perhaps by 'stiff' you mean 'not dynamic' ? But I think it's subjective. The Tengu is standing the same way, is it a problem? I'd say no. The Manticore? We love her. What's really the difference? My vote (if this were democracy) is don't do something fancy with the legs. It's all I care to ask for.

I agree that the legs look off. Her old pose looks like she is standing, the new one is off. Her left leg, the only one on the ground, is angled such that the point of contact with the ground is directly under the right leg. Her new pose isn't stable.

The revision looks a bit more natural and the sass communicates better. Can't say it really interests me all that much though, imps have more than enough content for generic enemies.

Everything is good, Thresh. You need the variants and the revision does what you need. But that blue ribbon is too goddamn bright, brother. You're also losing the bands at the top of her thigh-highs...But if you don't tell the guy to darken that ribbon this won't be my last post on the topic.

Looks good, I can't say no to more thighs showing. Though I personally prefer the 'squishy' type of face in the original - it's more cute and hits a niche that not too many of the girls fill. The smug little bitch energy is still present as well, which is good. wouldn't mind the old art sticking around in some capacity though, maybe fill it in for some variety since there tends to be so many group encounters with imps?

Direction of the new one is great, and I definitely like the extra sass. That said, new one's legs look really off to me with the way her right foot kinda disappears behind it looks like it just ends in a stub instead of a foot. A a tweaked version of the new one seems best. I actually kinda liked that the original's face was a bit "squishy" as you put it, but that's a minor preference, and the new one's face is really cute.

Both are very cute, but the new one looks both pretty and cute. I like the new one much more, and it seems perfect to me.

Honestly love the look of both, and I think you should keep the old one in the game for hordes of imps and stuff, as I think it would be a shame to loose it!

I definitely feel the new sketch flows well with Imp's personality. With new art comes new expressions to broaden her scope (with hopefully more content perhaps to go with it?) I feel that so long as she remains less stiff similar to the sketch she'll turn out okay. Just watch how the hair is done so it's not too painfully flowey and more natural it will definitely already be an improvement. i look forward to seeing how this turns out. I feel the sketch is already a step in the right direction with the points you made. The legs look a touch jank from the sketch though like they're a bit out of order when I look at them. I understand the direction that went into it, but it doesn't feel right even from a "mid-motion" perspective especially with the placement of the feet. I feel that needs the biggest touch-up to convey the point that was meant to be made.

No complaints. I wish the Imps had a more loli look but that might not be possible to do on a Patreon project.

My only problem is that in my opinion that in the later the hair to full on the back so it looks a bit off. The original looked like she has a ponytail the second looks like she got hair added. But yeah both are equal cute and flat. Damn Vili is to strong, she makes me think her magnificent titties are everywhere.

I have always feelt that the imps are a bit stiff and rigid, and perhaps a bit childish (matches the personality, but still a bit wierd). Love the new design and thinks it fitts a lot better.
