Chapter 267 - "Inferno, Kelketuk"

Timothy had shot at it already, but he discovered that his massive fireballs attacks weren't exactly effective against this beast. Dragons of any kind were typically difficult to fight, and the bigger they were, the more difficult they were for one to inflict damage upon, nonetheless kill!
In this case, they were fighting an amphiptere dragon, an arctic one, and it was considered an amphiptere because it had wings, but not any arms or legs to its disposal. The team believed that this was a Frost Orc, though, they had never expected it to have wings! This complicated the matter a lot more than they expected, and it confused them quite a bit too.
“Die!” Ortana shouted, as she shot tens of spears towards the dragon. She had managed to chip a few of its scales away.
However, the dragon unleashed a sort of frost storm through its mouth whenever the team attacked it, and this itself was quite effective as dispelling fireballs, and projectile attacks too. The winged dragon has been virtually untouchable so far, it was barely hurt!
The frost storm, ironically reminded Timothy of a specific creature that he could summon. In brief comparison, he figured that only a fiery dragon from the depths of hell could challenge a frosty dragon from the surface of the North Pole! His math wasn't too far off, and it might as well be right, because this dragon might just eat them alive.
Tim was forced to use the Master's Call ability. He summoned a creature that could create certain tornadoes that were made of fire, and this was bound to challenge their frosty enemy’s abilities!
‘Kelketuk,’ He whispered, and then a few streaks of fire started slithering around his fat, hairy palm.
[-9,500 dark mana points,] The system beeped.
A second later, this disgusting patch of black liquid spread across the snow, in front of Timothy. It stretched several meters long, and it signified the close arrival of the demonic monster that he had summoned. Moments later, the Kelketuk appeared out of thin air, and its ten meter long body cracked the ice underneath itself. The beast started sinking!
“Inferno, Kelketuk! Unleash a fire tornado, but be careful not to hit my friends! Spare the bears, please, and kill the dragon.” He guided the beast.
The group was stunned when they saw this huge creature appear, mostly because Timothy hadn't told them about this ability before. They were spooked, but they were happy that the demonic basilisk was on their side, rather than the opposite!
Using its four pairs of legs, the Kelketuk leaped upwards, and a fiery tornado followed suit! It could multitask.
The tornado grew, and it expanded to be well over fifty meters tall, and thirty wide, so it ended up engulfing the opposing dragon in flames in a matter of seconds! The thirty meter long amphiptere dragon stood no chance against the flames, its scales suffered major burns immediately, and got chipped off as a result. The fires from the depths of hell surely burned more than that of the common mage’s!
Since the demonic basilisk had leaped off of the ground as well, it managed to latch its four pairs of claws on to the amphiptere serpent, digging into its flesh as a result! Just like that, the ten-meter long basilisk brought down an opponent that was three times its size! Demonic creatures surely had the advantage when it came to the arsenal of power that they possessed.
“Haha! Good job!” Timothy shouted, as his friends watched in horror.
The explosive power of a demon was something to be truly feared. The horrendous beauty of the infernal tornado was imprinted in their eyes for good!
The amphiptere dragon was defeated, it was dead. The demonic basilisk had even managed to break one of its wings, severely, so there was no saving this creature even if the best healers in the world attempted to heal it! Timothy could resurrect the creature, but he didn’t want to spend thousands of points on this singular dragon, especially since he could summon a dragon of his own from the very depths of hell, a basilisk, to be exact. He was trying to be efficient.
[Your summoned demon successfully killed a Royal Frost Amphiptere, and therefore, half of the points of this kill are inherently yours to keep.] The system beeped, [12,000 system points have been added to your sum, and now you bear a total of 13,300 points.]
Timothy was excited that he got so many points without putting much work into it, but now he was confused. The species’ name that the system mentioned, didn't line up with the kind of dragon that they were looking for!
“Well shit, we just killed that poor bastardess for nothing.” He said, “Odds are that she isn’t even a mama protecting her nest, we just made an opening for it when we were melting through the ice.”
As the winds of the battle died down, his team realized what Timothy was talking about. They were equally concerned.
“So… there actually is more than one species of dragon around here? That’ll get us killed even quicker.” Ortana added, and she felt entitled to voice her concern, because the tens of spears that she launched earlier on, had barely even hurt that dragon. “We’re not meant to fight big dragons, not at all.”
“Hey, cheer up! At least we’re not down there, in the water.” Skendus added, as he tried to keep the team’s morale up.
The bottom line however, was that they had greatly underestimated the dangers of the North Pole. They knew that they had to fight a monster now and again, but the idea of multiple species of dragons living around here, didn’t rub them right! Sure they survived this battle, but that was mainly because of the overpowered demonic dragon that Timothy had summoned. They wouldn’t have won this battle otherwise, not without depleting most of their mana pool, at least.
“We’ll find a nest eventually,” Tim then expressed, as he pushed some questions through the system. “My Kelketuk demon will keep us safe, but, to make things easier, let’s try to avoid anything with wings, because the Frost Orcs that we’re after, aren’t supposed to have wings at all, especially not the size of five houses lined up next to each other!”
“I don’t think we can avoid them. Let’s just melt some ice and hope for the best.” Gustav added.
The team then moved over to a new patch of ice, because the one that they melted through couldn’t be expanded any further. The water that came from the depths of the sea was overflowing the hundred-meter wide hole, therefore making their work a lot more difficult than it was supposed to be. The hole they had dug would freeze over eventually, so they left it like that, and weren’t bothered about damaging the order that mother nature had set up.
It was also beneficial that the Kelketuk had killed a dragon for them, because if not anything else, a thirty meter long carcass was a great, preservable food supply out here in the freezing cold! Polar Bears are highly carnivorous creatures, so of course they needed a lot of meat to survive.
