BONUS VIDEO: It's a UNIX Machine, I Know This!

Hello Patreon friends! Time to break out some SGI goodness. I've had an Indigo2 for a while, and I just recently picked up another from a friend. It's slightly faster! Let's crack them open and check 'em out.

i would love to see this one as a youtube video, so i can watch it on the bigscreen in the livingroom.

I've tried the BlueSCSI version 1 with an SGI Indy and it didn't work. So I tried a RaSCSI/PiSCSI and that worked great. It's slower than a SCSI drive but is also able to emulate an optical drive. You can even use it to boot the IRIX .iso files and I find this is the fastest way to get the system installed.

I’m here for it

She’s beautiful. I miss the colored plastic era.

The piano chime sounds like the opening chord of "Everything I Do, I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams... Just a random thought

I should get you in touch with the IRIXNetwork mod—he’s local to me and is trying to put on a big reverse engineering project to bring IRIX back to life.

Neat! And just in time for Jurassic Park's 30th Anniversary. Going off topic a little bit, I don't know if you've done a video on Mac OS X Server, but since you mentioned net booting, I think covering it would make for a very interesting one. NetBoot/NetInstall was one of Mac OS X Server's most useful features. Maybe you could try to replicate Mr. Jobs' 1999 Macworld SF "Wall of iMacs" demo, or even use it in your follow up ClassiCube video. Imagine a bunch of Macs booting off the same NetBoot image, all networked and playing ClassiCube? I know it sounds crazy, but that's what your channel's all about, right? Doing crazy shenanigans with vintage tech!

I love the Jurassic Park reference. I’m at work so I can’t watch the video yet - wondering if this is related to the 30th anniversary of the original movie. The release date was June 11th 1993.
