Ooh. I haven’t done linoleum printing in ages. And those were all like Georgia O’Keeffe paintings (skulls and flowers on a table). Now I see an illustration made with stamps (or an imitation of them) flip book style, with at least one ‘printed’ scene taking up the whole page. You could play off of the the aesthetic you made for the charms, maybe have a series of ‘polaroid’ frames later as Noah tries to find that place again, with the miniature spirits in between (leading from one frame to the next?) and providing commentary from the white space. And don’t worry about the quality of the stamps themselves as you play. It’s not about what you do well but what you find. As for Polaroids, just use your phone and make Kan do all the poses with antlers/horns and an empty picture frame ;).

whoa ;; i'd love to take polaroids right now, everything is so nice looking in spring!! but i have my polaroid camera at home /sad face. but i've started with rubber stamp carving a bit ago!! and i maybe want to get into linoleum printing, too. it's such a neat technique with many possibilities. i probably need better tools for it so i can carve thinner details but so far it's super fun and thank you for being so patient and supportive and giving me your advice <3 your thoughts always help me too

That looks lovely ! I adore the details and just all of it. Take all the time you need to finish planning, deciding and drawing. I am super exited and want to read it but it's more important that you're happy with it and not working yourself to the bone nor stressing about it too much. Better to take a step back and let the shape come to mind then. Maybe take Polaroids as Noah might? Or use them as a framing device. Or perhaps try a different medium/style—wax crayons, chiaroscuro or calligraphy pen—to convey that sense of another time and place entirely. Whatever you decide, it’s a good time to let your mind play.
