Great News!

Dear Wintergatan Patrons,

Today is such a great day, my long time friend and Video-Ally Hannes Knutsson is Joining Team Wintergatan full time to help me produce the videos for the Wintergatan Youtube Channel during Autumn 2019! This is entirely made possible thanks to your amazing support!

During several periods of my video making I have worked together with Hannes but we have always used evenings, weekends or nights for our collaboration, this is the first time we can fully commit as a team to deliver great content to all of you. It will make it possible for me to focus more on the MMX and the music. Hannes will travel to France as often as possible to film with me on site and when he is in Sweden he will edit video I have filmed.

When I was struggling with the first Machine me and Hannes spent a lot of time laughing together at everything that went wrong. It was such a great way to push through that project. Now Hannes returns like Gandalf to help me finish the MMX in the same way.

There is a Swedish proverb that doesn’t seem to be working all that well in English but it describes this perfectly: “Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.”

It is also thanks to you that I have been able to work together with my awesome Team mates Emma and Elaine, who introduced themselves in the last post. Together we have looked through all your feedback regarding Patreon Rewards (thanks for that) and it seems again like most of you are not here with the intention of receiving rewards, the majority of you who wrote back just want to support the Wintergatan project. This is the second time we have received that same amazing feedback, Thank you so much for being here for that reason and for letting us know. We will keep all reward levels equal as before and over time implement reward ideas that we can deliver without taking me out of the MMX Studio.

If you have any questions, please send it to us here on Patreon and Emma and Elaine will get back to you while I am trying to make the MMX behave.

The slow progress speed of the Machine is a constant challenge, working harder doesn’t seem to make any difference so now I am trying to learn how to work smarter instead, to improve this speed. Having this great Team around me is a giant step in the right direction.Thank you for believing in the project together with us!

Hey Martin I know you're busy, but is there any way for you to release the songs from the "Wilson, totally unrelated to wintergatan" YouTube account to spotify? I primarily use spotify and I really want emerson on there and in my playlist. You may not think it, but these "demos" are wonderful and in my opinion you're a musical genius.

👏🏻👏🏻

I imagine that once MMX is complete and ready to roll, a backup MMX may well have a few design changes based on what was learned during the first iteration. Once MMX is done and after it has had a few months of practical use Martin and crew will no doubt be (already have been) discussing what parts could be improved in order to make the new (backup) MMX a better machine. Perhaps when the second machine is done it could be substituted for the original MMX. The original MMX could then undergo a ‘refit’ in the shop to bring it up to date so the two machines are interchangeable. I can’t think that it is, at this point, really possible to build a second MMX w/o at least a few tweaks here and there. Gary...

Great News!

I have a question regarding the tour? Since it's a world tour I was wondering how many shows per country might be planned? I'm from England and since its a pretty smallish country will there be a couple shows like in London and Edinburgh or a few more like in Leeds or Liverpool :)

Fantastic News! Very exciting!

Awesome news! Sorry I didn’t chime in about rewards ideas the other week, but I’m glad you reached the conclusion you did. My response is the same: I don’t need rewards, I just want to support the project and (ideally) help keep it as open and equal for all viewers as possible. My hope is that my contribution may help so the project can continue to be available to everyone regardless of what they can or cannot contribute.

Hi there :) Yes Hannes is back to take the reigns and free up Martin's time so he can slay some dragons. It's very exciting. Thanks for your support, Elaine/Team Wintergatan

In Germany we have the exact same proverb. If fits very well and is very true.

Honestly, “shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow” works just fine in english, it's nice.

Shame Boy

That’s great news.

yeah i'd like to know about this

Hej Hannes, nice to hear, that you are participated that way now! There is one question I am interested in and asked myself during the last videos a few times. I thought that it would be skiped within the youtube comments, but now I can ask it here: There was a video some time ago where you, Martin, mentioned, that you are looking for someone to build a second MMX beside the original one, to have a backup solution if something goes wrong with the original one. Espacially in the last videos there was so much done by hand which could'nt handle a cnc machine or a 3D printer. I think it would be really hard and time consuming to build another one of this masterpiece. So what's your plan in relation to this topic? How will you deal with it, if something goes wrong during the transportation from America to China or somethin like that? Keep the fingers crossed that this will never happen, but who knows ... And thanks a lot for sharing your passion with us the whole time! The force of Darth Marius and the rest of the MMX team and all of us will be with you!

That's great news. Best of luck with whatever this week's latest challenge is!

I don't know much about the background, but Hannes is back? That means he can do video editing exclusively. That ’s great news! A premonition that the MMX process is likely to accelerate ... Posting videos every week is hard, but please do your best within the limits!

Yes, i believe in the project :) Welcome Hannes :D

Heja Team MMX! Love to follow this project. The excellent youtube videos are more than enough of a reward for me. And now for even more excellency with Hannes onboard yeeeaah
