Introducing Team Wintergatan
Added 2019-08-02 09:59:05 +0000 UTCHi and thank you for being here!
We are a part of Team Wintergatan.... or Elaine and Emma in our downtime :)
As you all know, Martin is extremely thankful and touched by your ongoing support.
One big concern of Martin’s is that he has never succeeded in finding a good balance between building the Marble Machine X, making videos and managing administrative things like this Patreon page. He has tried to solve this puzzle many times but has always come up short.
He is painfully aware of the silence and lack of updates on the Wintergatan Patreon page and he has now asked us to help him to take better care of all of this and most importantly all of you.
So, in order to help Martin get to the finish line with the Marble Machine X we have decided to help him to manage this Patreon page.
As Team Wintergatan we have been working behind the scenes with Martin since the release of the original Marble Machine video and we are working with him towards the huge goal of the world tour premiere.
We are currently revising the perks that are offered on this Patreon page. We want to move to a system that consistently provides benefits that you will enjoy, while keeping Martin building, composing and filming. Thank you very much for your earlier feedback on this, we have noted it all carefully.
The first thing we want to do is to answer any possible questions you might have right now. Just comment below and we'll keep you all informed.
Have a great day.
Elaine & Emma/Team Wintergatan

I actually had no idea there were perks to becoming a backer other than getting your name on the thank you page in the WGW videos. What a great surprise finding out that there are so many behind the scene videos I now have access to! Thank you!
2019-12-12 08:31:33 +0000 UTCI decided to join Patreon because Martin's Marble Machine project has been inspiring me to finish my BSN and continue to go for my masters. Keep up the great work.
2019-11-02 17:35:12 +0000 UTCI debated whether to even comment since others have articulated my sentiments more eloquently than I could. But, I decided it couldn’t hurt for Martin/Team Wintergatan to hear one more time that I didn’t join Patreon for the perks. However, it would be wonderful if patrons could get early access to World Tour tickets, and maybe even early access to the tour schedule.

2019-08-30 06:02:26 +0000 UTCI’m happy to contribute in my small way to the project. I don’t need much care and feeding...just keep doing what you’re doing. : )

2019-08-14 17:39:36 +0000 UTCEarly access to the most wonderful show on earth? that's what i want, who wouldn't?!?!
2019-08-14 17:33:07 +0000 UTCHi Steven, I totally understand. We can't guarantee anything at the moment but I would say it will be a safe bet that there will be an East coast show :) Thanks for your support. Elaine/Team Wintergatan
2019-08-07 20:46:15 +0000 UTCCool idea Niclas! We will take note of that. Elaine/Team Wintergatan
2019-08-07 20:33:33 +0000 UTCEarly access to tickets (and notification) is why I joined. I know world tours often skip CHICAGO, but perhaps a nomination will bring more votes out? Come see the Shiny Bean! ;p
2019-08-07 19:49:11 +0000 UTCThere are little "demos" of new music scattered throughout the videos, he's definitely still working on new stuff :)
2019-08-06 22:56:40 +0000 UTCI think the very coolest thing would be if you came up with a few mini-marble-machine kits that people could purchase and put together themselves from flatpack boards, not very complicated, like a kid could put it together and make the marbles go around an element or two, but put some kind of special twist on the design so that it is obviously Martin's design and not just any marble machine. Include a cheap peizo pickup or something so it can be run through guitar pedal computer apps to produce a more musical sound. You might be able to use some of your research and/or cad drawings from the real machine as a starting point for the simplified kit elements. Martin's Ikea-style Mini Musical Marble Machines. Designing kits might be something interesting to do after the tour, too. The fastest way to learn something over your head is with a nice transparent example you can change and observe, it would be a lovely gift to share the knowledge you have discovered with beginner builders all over the world! And of course to share your aesthetic :)
2019-08-06 22:34:00 +0000 UTCJust like you I am curious about cities of the tour. Because if mine is not on the list I need to plan ahead the trip to one of the neighboring countries.
2019-08-06 07:12:28 +0000 UTCI would like to purchase a set of 6 small wooden cog wheels. I want to use them as a coaster or tray (to put under glasses on a table, protecting the table from whiskey)
2019-08-05 19:00:20 +0000 UTCOOps I sent before I finished!! Secondly I would love to buy the MMX t shirt is that available? finally please pass onto Martin a plea,,,,,please dont forget the music. the music is the key that unlocks the door. I miss him making music with his band, beautiful music sommerfagel. wonderful. I know he is busy but without the music the MMX would be silent. GOOd luck and carry on the brilliant work I look forward to travelling somewhere in the world to be a part of this joyful experience.
2019-08-04 12:06:58 +0000 UTCHi Elaine and Emma Thanks for helping Martin. Its very heart warming to know and to be a part of a world wide team supporting Martin. Three small points. I fully agree with jetvet. If the marbles had our initials lasered onto the marbles what a wonderful way to symbolise our unity. Ive thought that before.
2019-08-04 12:04:03 +0000 UTCHello, thanks for the update! I feel Martin’s videos are more than enough value for the little support I give via Patreon.. I believe there are more of us who contribute this way just to help keep the project running, without expecting special perks.. no stress Martin!
2019-08-04 11:13:32 +0000 UTCThank you all so very much for your feedback, your generosity and overwhelming support. We are reading through each and every message and passing on your words of encouragement to Martin. We will be in touch very soon. Elaine/Team Wintergatan
2019-08-03 20:37:45 +0000 UTCIm gonna be an outlyer here: All I want is to know more about Martin and his team. If that becomes available through some perks for patreons, so be it. Also I want a cog thingy that let's people know Imma patreon.
Nathan Townley
2019-08-03 17:18:28 +0000 UTCPlease do not comment the same thing, echoing above, rather use the heart reaction.
2019-08-03 13:27:59 +0000 UTCI want for nothing. Best to you and Martin.
Dan Swinehart
2019-08-03 05:09:02 +0000 UTCElaine and Emma, thank you for helping Martin bring this and other wonderful projects to life. Martin is an extraordinarily conscientious person, but please do let him know that he doesn't owe us any special perks! And "a system that consistently provides benefits" left me feeling almost anxious. :) I love the spontaneity, I love being delighted by a surprise post from Martin, no matter when, how often, or what about. I feel that if we have it any other way, a little something will be lost. It's a bit like stepping outside in the morning and spotting a deer, or a hummingbird. It wouldn't be the same if they were shown to me regularly, on a schedule. I'm simply happy and thankful knowing they're out there, making this world beautiful, just like Martin is. :)
2019-08-03 03:24:35 +0000 UTCLike earlier comments: Early ticket access, A meet and great at the concert, I'll wear my MMX T-shirt. Thanks
2019-08-02 20:45:50 +0000 UTCDuring the world tour, marbles used in concert could be sold with the regular merch. Laser etching the steel "marble" would be very easy to do and could generate a great deal of revenue. Fans could collect these over the years in the same way that they collect T-shirts.
2019-08-02 18:27:12 +0000 UTCA great perk for supporting the MMX would be owning one of the marbles used during the build of the MMX. The original marbles could be retired before the World tour and laser etched with an identifier like "Wintergatan MMX", dated perhaps. That would be a very nice, tangible connection to the MMX build for Patreon supporters.
2019-08-02 18:22:13 +0000 UTCElaine and Emma, thanks for being there. I am always amazed at how much has been accomplished to date. Your help should keep the momentum going. Sending good vibes to you and Martin!
2019-08-02 16:57:14 +0000 UTCEarly Ticket Access, please. Keep up the great work!
2019-08-02 16:00:03 +0000 UTCEarly ticket access is all I want, other than to ensure Martin is doing what he loves (either building or making music) and sharing that with us.
2019-08-02 15:31:54 +0000 UTCPerks? I don't need perks. I have never felt I wasn't getting far more than my money's worth with this Patreon. Do what you do, and keep yourself sane, Martin. You're fine. I'm not going anywhere.

2019-08-02 15:10:41 +0000 UTCWhile I am a huge fan of Wintergatan, Martin, and the MMX, I realize he is doing this to take himself and his band to the next level. A world tour with MMX. We have enjoyed years of videos, and as the end nears, the focus will turn to what’s next for Martin and Wintergatan. I have the T-Shirts and posters. Anyone can buy those and should buy those. They are not exclusive to Patreons. We desire something special. Something that says we have been here the whole time supporting this grand journey. I’m a huge fan of autographs. Perhaps, an autographed poster or album. Perhaps a meet and greet during the world tour. For the largest donations, maybe a sit down dinner opportunity with the band once the tour begins. I’ve followed Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith my whole life. I’ve bought their merch. I’ve seen them all in concert. I’ve never felt the personal connection that we get with Martin from any of those bands. . Perhaps other members of the band can get involved with making monthly videos letting us into their lives too. That would be cool. I’d love to know what was behind the band being created.
2019-08-02 14:39:06 +0000 UTCDo you have a list of cities for the tour? Are you remotely considering Buenos Aires, Argentina?
2019-08-02 14:30:44 +0000 UTCAs everybody said, we need no perks. I just want to support the wonderful work you're doing. As an admirer, I would like to have more videos to admire!
2019-08-02 14:29:28 +0000 UTCThe only real perk I need is to get to see this machine and meet Martin in person during the tour. I guess my biggest concern isn't "when" but rather "where". I hope that the USA will have an east coast venue so I don't need to drive 20 hours to see the show!
2019-08-02 14:19:20 +0000 UTCI would love too see some more videos of the build. Maybe some rough cuts of the videos or some old footage that you have that never got posted. I get so excited every Wednesday and would love to just see more content even if it isn't polished
2019-08-02 14:05:20 +0000 UTCI have great admiration for Martin as well as his entire team. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to this bright and wonderful project. I am glad that I get to participate in some small way by being a Patreon member but I have no expectations to receive anything beyond enjoying the content and watching/hearing the art you produce. To all of you at team Wintergatan, please never change your authentic and honest approach to the music, the art, and to your audience. Thanks again.
2019-08-02 13:49:00 +0000 UTCDitto on the no need for perks...no strings attached. 🖖
2019-08-02 13:45:42 +0000 UTCI am quite new to the support team here but I have the same idea as seemingly everyone else. I am not looking for any reward I would be incredibly happy to see you guys visit Hamburg in Germany by the time the world tour starts and have the chance to safe tickets early and that's about it ^^! Great, you help out though!
2019-08-02 13:43:54 +0000 UTCI have no need for perks either. I'm backing this because I want Martin to succeed, and I absolutely love the videos and the effort he puts into making them. <3 Glad that you're helping out though!
2019-08-02 13:36:03 +0000 UTCIt is important to repeat what HDRI Haven said: Patreon ... seems to be ... turning themselves into a "Membership service" - please don't join them :) We're all here to support MMX and everyone involved, we don't need anything in return, and we don't want you to start treating us like customers. If I had any comment is that your faces would be important. Martin has been 100% authentic in every step! We need the MMX to stay that way!
2019-08-02 13:35:37 +0000 UTCHad come back to Martin, in France. Watch this https://youtu.be/vIrX81SVwnQ
2019-08-02 13:15:34 +0000 UTCSame as Casey, first dibs on tickets for the world tour would be my preference.
2019-08-02 12:47:18 +0000 UTCYes. Only perks I would want are early tour date announcement and early ticket access.
2019-08-02 12:37:28 +0000 UTCSame as all the other juste want to help martin reaching his goal.
2019-08-02 12:31:19 +0000 UTCI have a question: is the original machine on display somewhere? I did not get a chance to see it in Utrecht.
2019-08-02 12:23:39 +0000 UTCSame as the all comments above, I became a Patreon because I do love his challenges and looking forward to actually see and listen to Wintergatan music here in Japan.
2019-08-02 12:00:53 +0000 UTCThis, i never donated with expectations. I just love what already happens.
Lamarias Lymosari
2019-08-02 11:24:21 +0000 UTCSeems I 'm copying the commentors above. Also want to be informed first for the Worldtour-tickets.
2019-08-02 11:10:29 +0000 UTCHi! Just dropping by to echo literally everyone else here, I'm happy to donate just to help out the project in any small way I can.
Valkhiya
2019-08-02 10:31:34 +0000 UTCPatreon itself seems to be ignoring its roots and going full steam ahead with turning themselves into a "Membership service" - please don't join them :) We're all here to support MMX and everyone involved, we don't need anything in return, and we don't want you to start treating us like customers.
Poly Haven
2019-08-02 10:16:05 +0000 UTCThe only perk I can think of is first dibs on tickets! Main perk is we get to support Martin in his work and show that we are also passionate about his wonderful creation :)
2019-08-02 10:15:49 +0000 UTCThis has to be one of the most supportive groups ever! I love it, and I share the same opinion as those above me. Thanks for helping Martin out in this way Emma and Elaine!
2019-08-02 10:15:29 +0000 UTCThe quality and quantity of content is already more than enough to keep donating. I'm just looking forward to geeking out over drawings and the world tour!
Victor Engmark
2019-08-02 10:13:34 +0000 UTCAs the other three above me has commented; I'm not a Patreon because I want any special perks. I just want to contribute to this awesome project, and I think that the videos Martin make of the process is a good enough reward in it self! And I look so much forward to the day Martin declares the Marble Machine X completed! :)
2019-08-02 10:09:59 +0000 UTCEchoing what seems to be a popular sentiment: I'm not here for any special content, I love that the MMX project exists and want to support it as I am able to. I'm already beyond thrilled that weekly videos are back in place, there's nothing else I'd need!
Justus Schmidt
2019-08-02 10:08:02 +0000 UTCI am not donating to get perks, although the early access to world tour tickets are great. I am donating because I want Martin and Wintergatan to succeed. Keep up the great work and try not to get stressed out.
2019-08-02 10:07:32 +0000 UTCSame, I don't need special content, just hoping the build continues to go well and Martin takes some breaks 😄
2019-08-02 10:06:23 +0000 UTCHonestly, I'm not really donating for special content; just wanting to do my part to keep the project going and see it through to completion :) I can't speak for others, but I'm sure most of us are just happy to know we're helping out in some way or another.
2019-08-02 10:04:00 +0000 UTCI'd tell him not to worry, I'm a Patreon to help him have the time to build the Marble Machine, not necessarily to have Patreon posts/engagement. If there is more content to come then ideal, if not, then YouTube vids of the progress are enough for me!
