Introducing Team Wintergatan

I actually had no idea there were perks to becoming a backer other than getting your name on the thank you page in the WGW videos. What a great surprise finding out that there are so many behind the scene videos I now have access to! Thank you!

I decided to join Patreon because Martin's Marble Machine project has been inspiring me to finish my BSN and continue to go for my masters. Keep up the great work.

I debated whether to even comment since others have articulated my sentiments more eloquently than I could. But, I decided it couldn’t hurt for Martin/Team Wintergatan to hear one more time that I didn’t join Patreon for the perks. However, it would be wonderful if patrons could get early access to World Tour tickets, and maybe even early access to the tour schedule.

Early access to tickets (and notification) is why I joined. I know world tours often skip CHICAGO, but perhaps a nomination will bring more votes out? Come see the Shiny Bean! ;p

There are little "demos" of new music scattered throughout the videos, he's definitely still working on new stuff :)

I think the very coolest thing would be if you came up with a few mini-marble-machine kits that people could purchase and put together themselves from flatpack boards, not very complicated, like a kid could put it together and make the marbles go around an element or two, but put some kind of special twist on the design so that it is obviously Martin's design and not just any marble machine. Include a cheap peizo pickup or something so it can be run through guitar pedal computer apps to produce a more musical sound. You might be able to use some of your research and/or cad drawings from the real machine as a starting point for the simplified kit elements. Martin's Ikea-style Mini Musical Marble Machines. Designing kits might be something interesting to do after the tour, too. The fastest way to learn something over your head is with a nice transparent example you can change and observe, it would be a lovely gift to share the knowledge you have discovered with beginner builders all over the world! And of course to share your aesthetic :)

Just like you I am curious about cities of the tour. Because if mine is not on the list I need to plan ahead the trip to one of the neighboring countries.

I would like to purchase a set of 6 small wooden cog wheels. I want to use them as a coaster or tray (to put under glasses on a table, protecting the table from whiskey)

I miss him making music with his band, beautiful music sommerfagel. wonderful. I know he is busy but without the music the MMX would be silent. GOOd luck and carry on the brilliant work I look forward to travelling somewhere in the world to be a part of this joyful experience.

Hi Elaine and Emma Thanks for helping Martin. Its very heart warming to know and to be a part of a world wide team supporting Martin. Three small points. I fully agree with jetvet. If the marbles had our initials lasered onto the marbles what a wonderful way to symbolise our unity. Ive thought that before.

Elaine and Emma, thank you for helping Martin bring this and other wonderful projects to life. Martin is an extraordinarily conscientious person, but please do let him know that he doesn't owe us any special perks! And "a system that consistently provides benefits" left me feeling almost anxious. :) I love the spontaneity, I love being delighted by a surprise post from Martin, no matter when, how often, or what about. I feel that if we have it any other way, a little something will be lost. It's a bit like stepping outside in the morning and spotting a deer, or a hummingbird. It wouldn't be the same if they were shown to me regularly, on a schedule. I'm simply happy and thankful knowing they're out there, making this world beautiful, just like Martin is. :)

During the world tour, marbles used in concert could be sold with the regular merch. Laser etching the steel "marble" would be very easy to do and could generate a great deal of revenue. Fans could collect these over the years in the same way that they collect T-shirts.

A great perk for supporting the MMX would be owning one of the marbles used during the build of the MMX. The original marbles could be retired before the World tour and laser etched with an identifier like "Wintergatan MMX", dated perhaps. That would be a very nice, tangible connection to the MMX build for Patreon supporters.

Early ticket access is all I want, other than to ensure Martin is doing what he loves (either building or making music) and sharing that with us.

Perks? I don't need perks. I have never felt I wasn't getting far more than my money's worth with this Patreon. Do what you do, and keep yourself sane, Martin. You're fine. I'm not going anywhere.

While I am a huge fan of Wintergatan, Martin, and the MMX, I realize he is doing this to take himself and his band to the next level. A world tour with MMX. We have enjoyed years of videos, and as the end nears, the focus will turn to what’s next for Martin and Wintergatan. I have the T-Shirts and posters. Anyone can buy those and should buy those. They are not exclusive to Patreons. We desire something special. Something that says we have been here the whole time supporting this grand journey. I’m a huge fan of autographs. Perhaps, an autographed poster or album. Perhaps a meet and greet during the world tour. For the largest donations, maybe a sit down dinner opportunity with the band once the tour begins. I’ve followed Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith my whole life. I’ve bought their merch. I’ve seen them all in concert. I’ve never felt the personal connection that we get with Martin from any of those bands. . Perhaps other members of the band can get involved with making monthly videos letting us into their lives too. That would be cool. I’d love to know what was behind the band being created.

Do you have a list of cities for the tour? Are you remotely considering Buenos Aires, Argentina?

As everybody said, we need no perks. I just want to support the wonderful work you're doing. As an admirer, I would like to have more videos to admire!

The only real perk I need is to get to see this machine and meet Martin in person during the tour. I guess my biggest concern isn't "when" but rather "where". I hope that the USA will have an east coast venue so I don't need to drive 20 hours to see the show!

I would love too see some more videos of the build. Maybe some rough cuts of the videos or some old footage that you have that never got posted. I get so excited every Wednesday and would love to just see more content even if it isn't polished

I have great admiration for Martin as well as his entire team. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to this bright and wonderful project. I am glad that I get to participate in some small way by being a Patreon member but I have no expectations to receive anything beyond enjoying the content and watching/hearing the art you produce. I am quite new to the support team here but I have the same idea as seemingly everyone else. I am not looking for any reward I would be incredibly happy to see you guys visit Hamburg in Germany by the time the world tour starts and have the chance to safe tickets early and that's about it ^^! It is important to repeat what HDRI Haven said: Patreon ... seems to be ... turning themselves into a "Membership service" - please don't join them :) We're all here to support MMX and everyone involved, we don't need anything in return, and we don't want you to start treating us like customers. I just want to contribute to this awesome project, and I think that the videos Martin make of the process is a good enough reward in it self! Echoing what seems to be a popular sentiment: I'm not here for any special content, I love that the MMX project exists and want to support it as I am able to. I'm already beyond thrilled that weekly videos are back in place, there's nothing else I'd need!

Honestly, I'm not really donating for special content; just wanting to do my part to keep the project going and see it through to completion :) I can't speak for others, but I'm sure most of us are just happy to know we're helping out in some way or another.

I'd tell him not to worry, I'm a Patreon to help him have the time to build the Marble Machine, not necessarily to have Patreon posts/engagement. If there is more content to come then ideal, if not, then YouTube vids of the progress are enough for me!
