Making Mistakes! (Again)

Hey everyone,

Hope you are great!! I have been fighting with the involved programming sections of the MMX. Getting the musical timing 100% precise at the joints of the four quarter plates is driving me crazy. Since machining times are huge my normal trial and error methods just aren’t good enough, and the math and engineering skill required to actually calculate the results are far beyond me.

Anyway, I am beating this problem but this had the result that I didn’t get a video done in time. And this week I posted an old unreleased video demo and that was my second mistake. I regretted warming up leftovers for you and also the algorithm was not happy :) So I made the video unlisted, you can watch it here if you want: (https://youtu.be/T7K43JBWkH4)

Today I got a message from youtube saying there was a statistical error in the view count, so hard to know If the algorithm gods were angry or if it was a statistical glitch. I am in Sweden over the weekend and MMX videos will be back asap!

All the very best and happy holidays from snowy Sweden!

I wondered about it too. He has even stopped from video # 62 to include the Patreon link in the video description. Please let me know if you find out anything :)

Been a long time since we have heard any exclusive anything. Am I missing something since this post?

Is there any chance that you could let me have the Fusion model of a programming segment? I have this idea for a simple programming robot (that would place the magnets under G-code command.)

I love the song from this demo! :D

(For non-speakers of Swedish: the Swedish word for 'good', in the "utrum" form, is 'god', which means something a bit different in English, and the "neutrum" form is 'gott', which means something a bit different in German - but more or less the same as the utrum form would if it were English ;) ... but there's also a word 'bra' that means 'good' or 'well' (adverb)... whoops, falling into a comparative linguistics rabbit hole again...)

Gott nytt år :)

the last few steps buddy...sigh... we all know what they're like... Happy New Year Frohes neues Jahr Bonne Nouvelle Annee Feliz Ano neuvo.... don't speak swedish...ooops!... ;) :)

If you don’t have a video because you encountered a problem, then you should definatly make the video. You have thousends of people watching you who have different areas of knowledge and skill and could come up with ideas that will help you solve the problem.

This is a great idea. Sometimes when you AREN'T obsessing about something allows your subconscious to work through the problem and the solution may just come to you. One hint, though, if you DO take this advice - SLEEP WITH A NOTE BOOK BESIDE YOUR BED!!! Nothing worse than waking up at 3am with the answer, then thinking "I don't need to get up to write it down, I'll remember it" and nope. You won't. Have an awesome break, Martin.

Likewise happy to help but do get some rest in Sweden!

From South Korea. Cheer Up Buddy.

Hi Martin, thanks for your great work. Why don't you just take a two-week break without thinking about MMX? We don't want to see you burned out ;)

Ondrej Gracias

Happy holidays, Martin. I know some people freak out when you don't post a video, but everyone has a life and sometimes things don't go according to plan. So don't worry about it. Enjoy your time back in Sweden!

I'm not really a physical engineer (although interested), but I'm good with problem solving, programming (professional), algorithms and math (as long as it doesn't require a math degree). If you need help of that kind, please drop me a message because I'd be more than happy to help if I can. Also, happy holidays!

Marvellous video, quite old style, raw and hobbistic but you're there. More important is the music. Martin we all fall in love with MMX, but are also waiting for the music it (and you) will play. Don't stop looking for perfection and beauty (is the reason we love you) and continue producing so magical music.

I loved that fun video demo — there really were a lot of you back then :-) Thanks for sharing it with us even if YouTube was unsure if it liked it. Happy holidays from the other side of the world (New Zealand!). Ewen
