I have to say that Martha seemed to get a raw deal. I don't think the show allowed her to be the companion she could have been. I think the show invested so much into Rose that it floundered a bit when she left. I think it lost its way a bit with Martha sadly. Episodes like this one show her potential and I think from this episode on, she got my respect as to her abilities. This one is one of my favorite episodes from Martha's time. She shines a bit but there is so much emotion in this one. Plus, I love the episodes where you get a bit more insight into The Doctor. "I'm so scared!" That line broke my heart. Tennant is an amazing Doctor.

2021-11-03 19:25:29 +0000 UTCMartha was hugely underappreciated when this series aired—many simply called her “not Rose”—but it’s wonderful seeing how many of those coming so late to DW really get how great she is as a companion. This season has several really great, top 10 NuWho storylines that haven’t made an appearance yet, so hold on to your hat!
