2023-05-16 15:43:30 +0000 UTCI think Howard arranged and recorded the Pelican Brief in order to convince Sirius execs that he was still putting effort into the show when he clearly wasn't. Artie had been gone for 3 years, Howard never replaced him, and I guarantee Sirius was aware how bad the show was getting. The recording was basically a smoke and mirrors show to give Howard credibility leading up to the next contract negotiation in 2015.

Now all he does is hang out with A listers, that he use to bash and make fun of. I know he's older and you can't keep up a high quality edgy show forever but the way he is now is just insulting to all the fans that made him what he is. I wonder how many listeners he still has? Like didn't he just sign a $500 million dollar contact? Is he really still worth that? I can't imagine he is, Joe Rogan isn't even getting that much and he is probably 100x more popular than Howard.

It’s unfortunate that a good super deep dive isn’t available due to Stern’s ferocious copyright strike machine. That’s another reason for his decline: his effective re-writing of history by scrubbing the internet of the non-pc content that made him so popular. To then turn around and scold that original audience, accuse US of being simple-minded racist homophobes for laughing at HIS jokes… it’s a monument to irony and the worst form of fascist insult.
