Here's my uncut reaction to "The Secret Of Roan Inish" (1994), which is a gorgeous, fantastical mystery of a film, set in Ireland (original novel was apparently set in Scotland instead) and I cannot believe it took me SO long to watch it! I'd had it mentioned to me many years back and completely forgot it existed until it was requested, so thank you for this!
Also, it turns out "Roan Inish" stands for "Island Of The Seals", which you will understand when you have seen it!
It's now going to be a comfort film for me too, alongside so many others that just feel cosy or somewhat comforting. What do you all think to this one? Is it a favourite of yours?
