UNCUT | And Then There Were None (2015) Episode 1 of 3 Reaction

The start of a three part mystery! This involves a set group of people going to a remote island to meet people they've been written to by... but all is not as it seems... where are the people they intended to meet, why have they been stranded on the island and who or what is picking them off... one... by... one.

I hope you can join me! Grab your detective gear for this one. Thank you for requesting it, I loved getting my teeth stuck into this.

I'll have episode 2 out sometime this week too. I'm spacing them out between the other posts.

Another film reaction is out Friday, this time for "Split" (2016) starring James McAvoy and Anya Taylor Joy, which is the second film in The Unbreakable trilogy, also known as the Eastrail 177 Trilogy by M. Night Shyamalan.

Have a wonderful day!

Starting the watch! Vera isn't the one writing the letters - she's just been hired (and you can tell from the speed of the typing that it can't be her). The signature of "UN Owen" straight from the typewriter shows that too. We had a really old Hermes typewriter from our grandfather, and of course some typewriters of our own. I could never change the ribbons without getting ink all over everything. We also learned typing in school. When things switched over to electric, we all had to adjust our touch because you needed a much lighter one on the electric typewriter. And OOOH, when the ribbon switched over to ink cartridges, I was in typing heaven - no more of those horrible ribbons!

So happy about this: though I kind of wish you had read the book first: I have some quibbles about the various crimes and how they're presented to us. I feel the writers kind of missed the point, but more on that after the series is done. And for all that, I think that, of the several adaptations I've watched, this is the best, especially for the characterization of Vera. Yes, they are missing the point of the accusations: we're being shown people outright killing, and the entire motive is that the crimes were such as could not be proven or prosecuted. So Rogers (Rodgers?) suffocating the woman is NOT right.
