UNCUT | The Twilight Zone: S1 Ep 14 "Third From The Sun" Reaction

Hi all! We're entering back into The Twilight Zone today with "Third From The Sun", so here's my uncut reaction.

A strange little episode that as much as I loved the premise (especially that ending, which definitely inspired Goosebumps for that one episode...), I found it oddly lacking something. It could have been that maybe I wasn't feeling it on the day I filmed this or something, but it was felt something was missing. I loved the plot and those wide angle shots, which felt very different for The Twilight Zone, but I felt like I kept waiting for something to happen.

That's not to say I disliked it though, as I did like it... it just felt different. Like the remnants of a story they had wanted to tell, so they filled an episode with it.

Then again, the ending made it all worth it! Heck, maybe they just built an entire plot around that very solid ending!

Anyway, thank you all for watching. I hope you're all well. Take care!

Hi James! Oh wait, those reactions have been done, as they're two of my faves! Walking Distance reminds me a bit of "Back To The Future" and "Time Enough At Last" was superb and wholeheartedly loved the main character and how he felt. I'll have to check and see if they've been missed off the collection! If so, Ill try to add them or re-post them if there has been odd happenings (very Twilight Zone!) Apologies about that and you're very welcome! I love The Twilight Zone

Marty

Really enjoying your actions to the Twilight Zone which has always been one of my favorite programs. Just a quick question. And if you have mentioned this and I missed it, my apologies. Is there a reason there were no reactions to episode 5, "Walking Distance" and episode 8, "Time Enough at Last"? I only ask because these are wonderful episodes. At any rate, thanks for your reactions!

James

Jamie’s spot on as usual. For me, Carling was weak and the card game straight to stealing a spacecraft was a bit much. Great ending as you say Marty. It was a time of space age development and some of these teleplays were hit or miss.

Robert Williams

This episode was written by Richard Matheson He wrote The Incredible Shrinking Man, I Am Legend AND Bid Time Return (the novel the movie Somewhere in Time is based on) so you’ll be very familiar with Mathesons work :D
