Here's my UNCUT reaction to "The Incredible Shrinking Man" (1957), I hope you like the shrinking effect near the start.
Thank you to you guys for requesting this. I loved this for the story and effects, but OH MY... A SPIDER?! Not just any spider either... A TARANTULA?!
People with Arachnophobia, be warned, as this freaked even me out and I don't regard myself as having it... but I do have somewhat of a fear of spiders... so I think I may have. (You can see why I didn't include it in the thumbnail... although I have no idea how I'm going to edit it lol)
That being said, the film was fantastic and those effects shot blew me away! The mix of forced perspective and the doubled film sets with one being big and one being a scaled up version (for the most part).
Also, I've got to say (I'll skirt around spoilers), when the cat thing happens and the family put out the statement... what?! That quick?! I half expected the wife to have been having an affair with the brother haha. I don't think she did, but it's just so funny how quick it happened.

I was going to warn you about the spider but I thought it would be a spoiler to do so. So I thought 'Marty is just going to have to deal with it'. I remember as a kid I was freaked out because I thought 'man he's just going to keep getting smaller, what's going to happen. oh man'. By the way the shrinking effect was great.
