EARLY ACCESS | His Girl Friday (1940) Movie Reaction *ONLY* (Trivia In Edit)

Hi all! I finally completed the reaction part of the "His Girl Friday" video. It's taken some time, but it's worth it. I'll be editing together the trivia section as soon as I can, juggling that and other projects.

I was hoping to get this out tomorrow on YouTube, as it's been a fairly long time in the works, but it might not be that way now due to other things. If not tomorrow, then Friday!

Oh by the way, I hope you like the thumbnail. I wanted something a little different to usual, as my face isn't normally in the middle.

I hope you enjoy!

Take care

Yeah, I've been researching into that today, funnily enough. I'm hoping to be able to get the trivia section out on here tomorrow if I can. It's really interesting the way they worked out how to make it seem faster. Making the starts and ends of sentences non-sensical words, so that on the overlap it all flows well into one another. Genius! Thank you for the info Robert!

I read Howard Hawks employed over lapping dialogue creating a faster pace along with pushing the actors to speak faster than in real life in this film.

Robert Williams

Thank you Maria! Yeah, you're awesome for that. You know me, I LOVE trivia too, so happy to hear it all!

Hi Marty, as you probably know, always my pleasure to spout some trivia when I hope it comes in handy. Absolutely, it's okay to mention, and thank you for that!

Thank you for this Maria! I had heard something about this, but couldn't remember what it was. I've made mention of that in the reaction now too, when the moment happens! I'll make mention of you to say thank you when I mention it in the trivia section too, if that's okay?

"Get back in there, you mock turtle": Cary Grant played the Mock Turtle in a 1933 adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland".

McHugh is played by priceless supporting player Roscoe Karns, whose trademark was a kind of verbal reaction between a drawn out sigh and a weary laugh. Oh, and in fact, this movie is chockful of these magnificent supports, most of whom get a terrific little spotlight for us to enjoy.

Rosalind Russell is a great lady to get to know! She has magnificent range, and wonderful chemistry with anyone she's with. Her new beau is the eternally hapless Ralph Bellamy, who made a kind of mini career as second love fiddle to Grant. I don't know if you'll include it here, but there's an in-joke that always makes me laugh: when Grant says the Bellamy character can be spotted: "He looks like Ralph Bellamy!" By the way, I love Russell's first outfit, with that cunning little hat. But I think you have to be over 5 feet tall to carry it off. Oh, well. In my next life...
