It was one I didn't realise was going to feel so good and creepy all at the same time. Genuinely pretty terrifying in places. Plus, some incredible cinematography, especially with that Cinemascope.
That ACTING! Deborah Kerr and the children are brilliant and pull it off well.
Also, if I had seen this without knowing the year it was made, there is no way I would have said the 60s, as it feels much older, as if it was made in the 30s/40s. The main thing that sticks out to me that sets it aside is the Cinemascope, as I mentioned. Unbelieveably good.

Another movie she was in was the Third Secret which wasn’t really that good of a movie it wasn’t bad but she was really good in it. She never really got the parts that she deserved. Looking forward to watching the reaction to this. I haven’t seen the movie in a while, so should be good.

2024-06-28 07:57:22 +0000 UTCThis is hands down my favourite ghost movie ! The Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor pays homage to this by featuring the creepy song O Willow Waly. It’s also the ambiguity of whether the ghosts are real or just imagined by the governess which is never truly explained. Overall a great horror that truly gets under your skin
