Q: Which film(s) would you like an Uncut reaction for next?

Just wondering, which film(s) would you like an Uncut reaction for next?

*I just realised I forgot to set it to multiple choice, so if you do have any other choices, please list them in the comments! Thanks!

I'll be watching all of these in time, but this is just which ones to get to first. I have a copy of almost all of these now, so it's just which one first.

"What We Do In The Shadows THE FILM" was higher than others on the previous poll, but I just wanted to check.

With Midsommar's Day coming up, I'd planned on at least watching the Uncut for then if you're up for it?

I understand a lot of these are more modern than the usual, but there are quite a few on the list, so thought it best to put them together. Otherwise older films may be picked over them.

I've added some very new films at the bottom that are some I'd liked the look of too the past year or so.

Please let me know below on the poll or in the comments.

Thank you!

Okay, no problem. I'll potentially watch it at some point for the channel anyway, as the cinematography looks brilliant. I'll see how it goes though 🤗 That's okay, not to worry! Ooh no, I do love baffling and strange! But that's okay, yes I can postpone that one too and switch that out for the AMAZING original West Side Story. It's one that I have been eager to watch for years, genuinely! I just never got around to it. However, I LOVED the newer one, it's beautiful. I know it will be similar, but I can't wait to watch it! Thank you

Marty

Honestly Midsommar might be one to just watch on your own if you're in a folk horror mood. 😊 And now that I'm more familiar with reaction videos (I didn't watch them until Our Flag Means Death!), I think another suggestion of mine, Mulholland Drive, would be difficult to do a reaction to because it's so baffling and strange. (Great film, but maybe also better watched on your own.) If I can swap that one out too, I'd love to see your reaction to the best musical ever made, West Side Story (1961 version)--another classic!

Tess

Fantastic! Thank you Jamie! I'll make note of that

Marty

Aww, Tess! Thank you so much, you're so sweet for thinking of me like that. Yes, of course you can change it, not a problem. Yeah, I'd heard it was a folk horror and had been meaning to watch it since it came out. I do love that kind of thing, but yeah if it starts out like that, I'll be a wreck haha! I might pop that to the side for now then, but WILL watch it at some point. Even if not as a request, but just my own pick and your prior request. Instead, for now, I'll add in The Innocents for you. I've not heard of that one, but it sounds good. I love a ghost story! Ooh, that sounds wonderful about the black and white. I checked out some imagery of it and it's gorgeous!! Thank you

Marty

Nice one Scott! Thank you for that. In that case, I might do just that and postpone the Midsommar one for a while and watch The Innocents at some point soon. I'll add it to the list. Thank you for your nod to that film too

Marty

The other movie I would have picked if I could would be Somewhere In Time. Also, as the previous post said. "The Innocents (1961)" is a fantastic film that will surprise and is more with the vibe here.

Scott Howard

Hi Marty! I was just thinking about my request for Midsommar, and wondering if another film fits better with your love of the classics. Midsommar is visually striking, folk horror with a similar premise to The Wicker Man, but it opens with an absolutely harrowing scene of grief and loss, and is QUITE violent, especially the end. You're such a pure soul and now that I've seen more of your reactions, I hate to inflict it upon you, lol. May I change it? I was thinking The Innocents (1961) fits your vibe better. It's a classic ghost story based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. Excellent casting (Deborah Kerr and two very good child actors), directing (BAFTA winner Jack Clayton), screenplay (co-written by Truman Capote), and it's filmed in *beautiful* deep focus black & white.

Tess

Voted ! I’ll also vote for Journey to the Centre of the Earth from 1959 :D
