Blood Witch Map

Who here likes maps? I made my own. Here is every notable country in the story of Blood Witch, as well as Heiroch, the mega-city-state in which the story takes place. Here are some details about the different locations, their cultures, their people, and their politics.

Heiroch
Heiroch is a city-state located atop the High Rock Plateau, a mysteriously abundant and fertile place, which has seen much prosperity in its history. Heiroch is home to an artefact which is called "The Well," a pebble sized spinning-top device that, for some reason, builds up charge (mana, magicka, energy, whatever you call it) on it's own. Using the well, the appointed archwizard makes use of the charge to supply Heiroch's inhabitants with luxuries and amenities, and protect them from invaders.
The well is so coveted by all that Heiroch has been in the centre of a game of tug-of-war between Cabarea and Roam, two ideological opposites. Using the charge within the well, the archwizards of Heiroch have been able to defend it from these two countries until fifty-five years ago, when a terrorist slipped through the cracks during a full-scale attack on Heiroch launched by Roam, taking the well for themself, and amassing an army behind them. At the head of this army, Cerulean and his Hells-Born Hounds, a total of four wizards, exercise their strict authority over Heiroch's broken and impoverished population.

Roam
Roam is a mysterious country led by men in hoods and masks. They are not very open about how they do things in their home country, but to an outside observer, they appear to be a religiously-motivated dictatorship, their God as their dictator. They worship the moon, the night, and the darkness. They are extremely skilled in creating illusions, manipulating large groups of people, and going completely unnoticed in doing so. The people of Roam have made their way to the political world stage through subterfuge, bribery, and manipulation, and continue to exercise their skills in this area to grow their tentacles even larger. They despise Cabarea, seeing it as a stain on the earth, referring to them in English as "solites."
All that said, it's no wonder why Roam has been so desperate to get their hands on the well, and a wonder how they haven't done so already.

Cabarea
Cabarea is a religious monarchy which worships gold and the sun (in their faith, these are made of the same thing). Just as they are despised by Roam, they despise Roam, motivated not only by their faith, but the amount of times they have caught Roamish spies and troublemakers in their own government. In the past, they've been at peace with Heiroch, but since the insurrection, their goal is to take it for themselves.
Within Heiroch, since long ago, a cathedral to Sol called the Corona has stood tall and provided Cabareans and other followers of their faith a place to worship their God. During the insurrection, Cabarean military forces in Heiroch were overpowered, and chose to fall back to the Corona, which they successfully defended from the attackers, giving Cabarea a permanent foothold within Heiroch. They expanded their territory and took in refugees from Heiroch, who named this place "Solace."

Kvaja
Kvaja is another religiously motivated state, Kvajans worship mother nature and the natural order. They believe that they were put here on Earth to defend it from wrongdoers who would destroy the land for their benefit. They see themselves as a part of this natural order, and they see those who pollute the earth and destroy nature's beauty as another part of the same order. It is the will of the wind that they destroy one another forever. This religious group is called "Viridian."
Kvaja is a hyper-militaristic state hellbent on protecting the earth. They have, by far, the largest military budget of any country in this world. In saying this, though, they are not quick to use deadly force, and influence cultures around them through compelling sermons and, sometimes, simply by existing as a threatening military giant. They have outposts all over the world, and naturally, they have a sizeable territory within Heiroch. The viridians within this territory, though, have strayed a fair bit from their original purpose, perhaps through desparation, and are extremely unrelentingly violent toward anybody that may hint at provoking them. They live in a constant state of war and slaughtering.

Sycht
Perhaps the least notable nation in the story, Sycht is a puppet-state of Roam. Everybody knows this, and everybody is powerless to do anything about it. The indigenous people of Sycht are used to perform manual labour and menial work for the Roamish economy, and the Sycht government is just a bunch of Roamish cultists.
The people of Sycht often try to escape, and usually, they make their way to Kvaja. Being a generous and earth-loving people, so long as the Sychean refugees agree to their customs, they are free to stay and work in Kvaja. For this reason, Kvaja has a significant Sychean population.

Thanks for reading all of that. I'm sure some of it is subject to change anyway, but that's the general way the Blood Witch world works! I'm sure nothing bad will happen in the story.
