Sherlock S2 E1 "A Scandal in Belgravia" * FULL LENGTH REACTION

There's no way an episode can top this one! Why would they start off so strongly, the pressure for the rest of the season is high!

What an absolute marvel of an episode! The banter, the numerous connections and unknowing betrayals, and Watson along for the ride 🤣

Irene Adler was a very nice addition, and I love all of her interactions with Sherlock. The power plays, the tricks, the sneakiness!!

I think her, Sherlock and Moriarty should be roommates. Now that would be hilarious!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

If they match it, it'll be an insane season!!! The editing is so well done with the text messages like that! It lets them use longer takes instead of cutting to show us the text message on the phone, I love it! I need to get to some Charlie Chaplin movies soon, that's one actor that I keep hearing about!!

I’m really enjoying watching these again.

Wow, what an episode!!! I doubt they’ll manage to top this one (I certainly don’t remember either way) but if they can somehow match it, then we’re in for a treat. Irene Adler was a great addition to the show. Just knowing her in a different version made me excited to see her in the hands of these writers. Excellent stuff. I think this was the first show I’d seen use onscreen captions in an artistic way (something I had actually remembered). I’d only seen text messages before as plain text or just a shot of the phone. The shot composition and transitions are also noteworthy to my eyes. I’m not sure I would have recognised Oona from Game of Thrones, but then I have tried to block out the trauma of that show 😁. For no real reason I’m still fascinated by the fact she’s Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter. Anywho, I’m excited for the next episode, by the title alone.
