It's a Wonderful Life (1946) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

My new favourite Christmas movie! 🥰🎄

So well done on so many fronts! Hot dog, James Stewart is an amazing actor! He was swell and showed subtle emotions, and overall such a joy to see him act.

I didn't realize the concept was used in Simpsons until after I watched it. It seemed a bit familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

One of the best moments is when Clarence jumps in because he KNOWS it'll save George 😭

I just read that the story is adapted from a short story, "The Greatest Gift", which was loosely based on "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens 😁

Such a wonderful movie 😏

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for your support, you are amazing!!

It sounds like he had a heck of a life! I'm glad they didn't renew the copyright so it got played so much and so many people got to see it. Who knows how many people would not have ever seen it had it not played on TV so much!

I am giving you absolute barebones summary of these films that are intended to get you interested in these films. He did several movies with Alfred Hitchcock( whose career is legendary and worth watching).

I didn't read any movie descriptions since I prefer going in with minimal information, but I will definitely be watching more James Stewart, and be making a poll for him since he's been in so many great films! Thank you for that.

Without a doubt yes! The start seems like it'll be super bleak but the story is told so well 🥰

Colour me intrigued, I look forward to more Frank Capra then!

I'm so glad to hear that!! 🥰🥰

It just goes to show how improv and being quick on your feet is great! I didn't see that the pool was still in existence, that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen lol. I'm hoping next year to get into some westerns and see what John Wayne is all about!

Jimmy Stewart was one of the first (if not the first) A-list Hollywood actors to join the military during World War II. He enlisted in the US Army several months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. After the US officially entered the war, he somehow managed to get an officer's commission in the US Army Air Corp even though he was too old for flight school (the fact he already had a commercial pilot's license and his own plane undoubtably helped...). He went on to become a highly decorated B-24 bomber pilot flying 20 combat bombing missions over Europe. By the time the war ended, he had reached the rank of colonel in the US Army Air Corp. After the war, he stayed in the Air National Guard and reached the rank of Brigadier General before he retired. One interesting bit of trivia about this movie. It was a complete flop. It came out shortly after the end of WWII. So many people had died during the war, that nobody wanted to see a happy, upbeat movie. In fact, it flopped so badly that, in 1974, the studio didn't bother to renew its copyright and the film entered the public domain. This meant that TV stations could show it for free, so they started airing it frequently, especially around Christmas time. This airplay turned it into a beloved Christmas classic and it's now considered one of the best movies ever made.

Classic movie. Has one of the best endings ever.

It is difficult to find any Frank Capra film which does not have the greatest characters. Many wild plots, but the people are beyond memorable.

Cliff Adams

James Stewart is a amazing actor who is often cast as an everyman. I would suggest that you watch him in Rear Window(1954) where he plays opposite the stunningly beautiful Grace Kelly and was directed by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. Stewart plays a photojournalist who is recovering from a recent injury and gets embroiled in a mystery. Vertigo(1958) another Hitchcock film where plays opposite of Kim Novak. For a less serious film watch Harvey in which Stewart plays an extremely nice rich guy claims to see a rabbit that is invisible to every one else so they think Stewart’s character is crazy . The movie is good and kinda fun. Another funny one is The Philadelphia Story which has an awesome cast of Stewart with Cary Grant( whose career was made in screwball comedies) and Katharine Hepburn ( whose career basically speaks for itself as one of the best actresses ever and icon).

Loved your reaction!

Another great Jimmy Stewart film is "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", a great western with John Wayne and Lee Marvin.

Oh good, I'm glad you did this one. I'm sure you saw that the swimming pool is still in existence and still being used. I don't know if I really believe that. The other funny thing I know about this is when the Uncle has that scene where he walks away from the house and he's kind of drunk and he goes off scene and you hear a big crash in the back ground. That was unscripted, a set worker dropped a tray of tools while they were filming and the actor, with good presence of mind, saved the scene by apologizing. He was a great character actor, in a lot of really good stuff, the one that comes to mind is Stagecoach with John Wayne. Anyway that's probably in the IMDB stuff I can't remember where I read that. I think I saw it in an interview. Stewarts acting in this was his best.
