The Breakfast Club (1985) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

This is the winner of our 1 location poll!

What a sweet and great movie to see as a kid and as an adult, though the movie has different things to take away from it at different times of our lives.

In my high school, we didn't have prom queens or anyone on the wrestling team, but the attitudes and demeanours of each character is very relatable.

I'm just astounded at the teacher... what a terrible attitude to have.

All of the actors were just fantastic, and the fact that they were encouraged to improvise/ad-lib and even did it for the sitting around on the floor scene is even more amazing.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for your support, I couldn't do this without you 🥰

Thank you! I love movies where we have character exploration and see how talking and opening up can change us.

Thanks for the awesome reaction! I've always really liked this movie and I thought your insights were great.

It's hit and miss. Sometimes it takes them a second to figure it out, sometimes they recognize the line but can't pin it down.

DarthChef

lol, Roger from American Dad loves to quote this movie 😊😅

Mannygogou

Do people recognize the line? The moment someone does is such a great feeling 😁

Teachers should make so much money because their jobs are NOT EASY. Having to deal with all kinds of kids on a regular basis, trying to do your best when a lot of kids are just not listening or caring, trying to help, and it goes on. I've had some great teachers, some that were obviously just so tired of it all, and some that were ok. The music in this movie is quite boppin', I really enjoyed it. It reminds me of Guardians of the Galaxy's soundtrack which is well known music but used so well throughout the movie.

Surprise! 🤣 I always feel like I'm forgetting a poll too.. so far so good I think

Verowak

It seems like there are a lot of 80s movies that I'll need to watch in order to see these actors more!! I don't think that quote was there? That's odd

Verowak

There will always be at least 1 person that isn't happy 🤣

Verowak

As a chef my work environment includes many things that will accidentally cut and burn me. Whenever some one would see a new cut, burn or scar and ask me about it, my usual answer was "this is what you get in my house when you spill paint in the garage." That line will never get old

DarthChef

oh, I forgot all about this poll...

Mannygogou

It’s strange that the quote was missing, especially as the timing was unaltered, just a black screen for the same length of time

For some reason I skipped almost all of John Hughes’s classics growing up, so I’ve only seen them as an adult. I’ve really liked all of them, with the exception of Home Alone. I think this is really nicely acted and quite an emotional movie. Good music too. My high school years were largely forgettable, not particularly enjoyable, but not awful. I was a great underachiever, every school report was pretty much the same - “capable of more but doesn’t push himself”. Might have helped if I’d had any inspiring teachers, but it’s a difficult job and most students in state education probably had a similar experience to me.

John Hughes was like THE director for 80's teen movies. His run of films is impressive and most of them are iconic. Emilio Estevez is the brother of Charlie Sheen (and son of Martin Sheen). Emilio chose to keep his birth name when he went into acting instead of adopting the Sheen last name. Most of the actors in this movie were part of the "brat pack", a nickname given to a group of actors that often appeared together in a lot of 80s movies. They hated the nickname, but most of them are still associated with it. Also, did your version not include the quote from David Bowie at the beginning? It didn't seem to be there. "...And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through..."

Negative

Oh no. YT comments will be like "How did you know the comments were going to be horrible if you didn't read them first? You're lying about the comments being from someone else!"
