Dune Part Two (2024) * FULL LENGTH REACTION

It's finally here!!!🥰😍

I've waited so long for this to come out 😂

(obviously, there are some spoilers below, in case you haven't seen the movie)

Such an amazing continuation, and I'm really intrigued on how the story continues. I really get this sort of Doctor Strange vibe from Paul seeing the possible futures, which in a way if anything seems weird (like his marriage/proposal), then it's all "it was the only way" type of thing.

I am very curious to see what will happen with the Harkonnen, though in the end... a Harkonnen will perhaps rule 😁

I'm not a huge fan of how rushed his joining the Fremen and becoming one of them felt, but at the same time, it does make sense. It just felt very quick and jumping around, since Chani said he won't ride the worm.. then almost the next scene, he's riding a worm.

I have to say, I LOVE it when they reuse lines, like recognizing the footsteps 🤣

Really a great movie, and I'm looking forward to the next one!!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

If you cannot respect other people's rules, then perhaps it's best you do not interact with them. Good luck in life :)

You can delete me. I am fine with that on your end as well. Good bye and Good Luck. I am done though,

I will stay in just my room. I will never watch or comment on anything again. I am paid till Dec but just no. I joined at close to my lowest. But not my lowest. Tried Discord. Failed. Now this. I did not lie or tell anyone but you my own struggles. It is not a F!@#G spoiler when the entire movie set something up in the movie! Then bad acting gives a different impression (director choice or not?). Giving the 1st 2 paragraphs in a book is not a spoiler! Hey the movies are about the Ring the books are about the Hobbit. NOT a SPOILER.! Hey Treebeard sucks in the Two Towers because he is a horrible "Shepard of the forest" in the movies. If you read the BOOOK he is a Shepard of Fangorn. And I say trust me, the real character is better? 1 ....2.....3 strikes you are out. I would like to think that you and your followers where a cut above so to speak. You are. Still nowhere close to me because of what I have seen and know. At least I do not live in CA where they till people like me to just kill themselves. I am F!@# done. I have HELP. I am tired of them saying. GD!@#$ you are right!

This is 100% a spoiler, please NO SPOILERS. Why tell someone how a book ends when you know they haven't read it and you know they like to read the books that movies are based off of? There are ways of going about this like "They weren't faithful to the book." This does not spoil anything, and can even make others curious to see how the book differs. This is your last warning about spoilers.

I'm glad I've already read "Dune" long before these two recent films. You COULD have recommended the book by simply hinting that it ends much differently than the film, "DUNE Part Two", but instead you gave away what would have been a satisfying ending for a reader.

ButtercupsTrueLove

It's great when there are books that can be reread so often! Having a great story and good writing style that can make us get lost in a world is a rare gift

I can see how it can fall short of expectations, given how the first one was amazing. Doubly so that you have read the books, it makes it just that much harder for the film to live up to the books. I definitely do not envy a filmmaker that adapts a book to the screen, it's not easy at all and you can't always keep every character, which always changes the story somewhat.

Verowak

I will say, that the visuals and cinematography are the best parts of the movie. It is stunningly beautiful, and I could look at it for such a long time. Having had some time to dissect the movie a bit more, I'm noticing that I love *some* scenes, but the flow of the story is off somehow. It felt rushed in parts, but the general story I really do enjoy (aside from the love issues that stem at the end). It's still a movie that I would rewatch, but it's not one that makes it into a top movie for me. It does make me want to read the books though to get more information and worldbuilding, while seeing how different the characters are.

They did Chani wrong and the end scene is nothing like in the book. Paul did marry The Emperors daughter. But she was just given a library, no love no passion. Paul and Chani stay together and have other kids. When you read the book, the 1st one. the Emperors daughter is the narrator and makes a footnote before each chapter. I hope I did not spoil too much. I try not give spoilers. BUT I ASSURE YOU, YOU WILL LIKE THE BOOK. :)

There are 4 books I read every year and I have close to 20 years. 1. My own religious txt personal to me. 2. The Hobbit and LOTR. 3. The 1st book of Dune. 4. Jurassic park/Lost world. I am going to break my no spoiler rule. But I will because you are right there no good guys. That is the whole point of the Dune Saga! How you manage to figure stuff like that out so quick still amazes me. Most people who have even read the books do not figure that out!

Daniel Looney

I think to truly enjoy you have to be blind coming in, faithful readers of the books I think will by in large be under wellmed.

Overall not terrible but fell short of my expectations. Possibly, a controversial take but I still regard the sci fi channels adaptation from the early 2000s as the best. Primarily due to its more faithful approach to the books, despite the low budget feel. Absolutely read the books, some characters missing and events left out that change much of the dynamics some and pauls story and growth is much much smoother, although both more or less reach the same destination.

@WastedPo You’ve mostly summed up my thoughts better than I’m capable of. Although, is Paul meant to be the saviour, I was getting slight Anakin vibes (I know nothing about the source material or overall story though. If anyone does, probably best not to comment to avoid spoilers)

I think we have similar takes on these Dune movies. I think they're immaculate in terms of their aesthetics. However, their "unconventional" way of telling their story is leaving us cold. I sense that the director took pains to stay away from traditional Hollywood tropes. He likely told Hans Zimmer NOT to have too many "hummable" music themes, and go for more ambience and minimalism. And even though the main character is obviously meant to be a savior within the context of the world, he's not presented in a way that makes the audience feel excited over it. While it's interesting and even laudable that the director is purposely rejecting these tropes - at the same time, I continually find myself detached from whatever happens to the characters. I guess these are movies I can admire more than actually love.

WastedPo

I know exactly what you mean, felt the same way...🤔

This might be the prompt I need to rewatch this. I saw it at the cinema and honestly didn’t enjoy it. I wanted to so much. I love the first one and was really excited for part 2. I remember being sat there, and being extremely appreciative that this movie existed, having become somewhat jaded by recent movies, but I never felt entertained or excited by the unfolding stories and characters. So many people seem to love this that I wonder what I missed. With my expectations now set much lower I’m hoping that I will appreciate the events much more second time around.
