I finally get why everyone loves this movie 🥰
The physical comedy of the 80s/90s was just such a really fun time. I grew up watching Bugs Bunny so violent comedy is quite normal 😅
I've seen a lot of people ask about Home Alone 2 already, and I think I may just have to, though it'll have to wait until next year.
I was not expecting to enjoy the movie this much, and the fact that there are some nice lessons to learn is a huge bonus!

The burglars in "Home Alone" got off easy compared to what the little girl does to the home invaders in "Violent Night" 😉

2023-12-10 15:51:52 +0000 UTC"Family movies" and "Comedies" are movies that I go in with a very different mindset than, say a thriller. I expect it to be silly and have a focus on children. I will say, if the movie had all the kids for more scenes, I would have started to really dislike the movie, but thankfully they all left 🤣 I completely get not liking this movie, and like you said, it's subjective. It's great to see that you acknowledge that and are fine with people liking different movies.

I love reaction channels for two reasons, firstly I get to rewatch my favourite movies in a somewhat accompanied way, and see how someone else responds to it, sometimes spotting something I may have missed myself, and secondly, it gives me a reason to watch a movie I would ordinarily not choose to watch. This movie falls into the latter. Sadly, this one just reinforced all of my presumptions as to why I wouldn’t enjoy it. I certainly didn’t hate it, but 10 minutes enjoyment in a 100 minute runtime is not a good ratio. I did enjoy the scene in the church with the neighbour, a very short segment of the burglars’ assault on the house and the end scene. Based on how well loved this movie is, I must be missing something, but I guess that’s art is it not, people like different things. Therefore I always try to choose my language accordingly, such as a movie is not bad, just something I personally don’t like. I’m glad you enjoyed this one though. Anyway, I will do my best to maintain an open mind when going into other movies I’ve chosen to not watch before.

2023-12-07 11:29:13 +0000 UTCI would watch Home Alone 2 after this, but I wouldn’t watch the ones after that. It’s not even Macaulay Culkin playing the kid anymore in the third one. Also, it’s not even Kevin and his family after the second movie. It’s just a completely different family.

Catherine O’Hara, Kevin’s Mom, was there for him and we got a wonderful then and now picture of them. We have two Harry Potter connections, John Williams and Director, Chris Columbus!
