Here you can see I marked out in sharpie where the padding is on the temporary leg pattern. I then cut it out to get the shapes for the final padding. For the part of the padding that lays against the body… well I mostly just guesstimate and then edit while I’m sewing the final fabric together. I kind of lay the top pieces down on the fabric and draw out my general shape. In general, the padding shape isn’t super crucial. Most of your leg shape will come from the fursuit body.
The top padding is removable but the lower calf padding will be sewn in otherwise it falls out of the leg
