“If you were to turn into a snake tomorrow and begin devouring Humans, and from the same mouth you devoured Humans, you cried out to me 'I love you!' , would I still be able to say 'I love you' the same way I do today?” Tite Kubo does it again. I believe this poem is a self-reflection of Gin's own perception of himself and his actions. He's narrated or presented it in a way that it's self-reflective, rhetorical question. It's his own inner thoughts in play. He doesn't think he'll be worthy of Rangiku's love even if he succeeds. It's pretty tragic. He knows he has done bad things and isn't by normal standards a good person but he must keep moving forward to accomplish his goal.
