Gurpler Update
Added 2024-11-22 20:31:19 +0000 UTCWe cannot thank you all enough for the continued support you all show us. As a small company this was a huge undertaking and a big first step for us.
Before expanding on anything else know that we have already ordered another run of identical Gurplers. We are taking what we made and immediately investing it back into 5000 more that are looking to be available early February. We know everyone who wanted one didn't get one and we are both sorry and hope you know we are doing everything we can to get you a cup. We understand your frustration and although this might not make things better in this moment I hope our genuine care about this is felt. We thank everyone so much for your patience and understanding and also respect those who just feel bummed at the moment. More Gurps are coming and from the bottom of my heart thank you for being here for us.
This as I said at the top was a huge moment for us and it was made possible because of all of you. It was a relief to know we can do something like this without crashing the site and it seemed that the purchasing process was the best it has ever been outside of running out of inventory. The merch team we work with has informed us the Gurps should be fully shipped out by Monday which is amazing. We will take everything positive and negative about the process today and use that to help us only make this process better going forward.
We love and appreciate you all so much. It can never be said enough. Thank you for every moment of Regulation

They explained that put out the shirt first to test the site and the process, and they announced the gulpers very soon after that so you could know it was coming so you coumd wait and buy both together if you wanted.

I’m just salty towards the community, because I fear that someone actually did buy and stupid amount of cups, ruining the chance for the rest of us. And that it was my birthday when y’all released your first Gurpler… so I really really wanted one…. Kinda wish there was a way to not sell someone a cup if they’ve already purchased one before. It ain’t fair in my opinion. I just really want to get a cup. I was there the second they dropped… and ended up waiting in queue until it canceled itself and said it’s sold out. Like whyyyyy

Knowing how much ANEGG and the team care about this, and us, and just being able to almost literally feel it from this post... I may feel like I missed out this time but I could never hold it against them. RP and its successes - and hypothetical failures - are going to have SO much more weight to them than it did when we were FF. Even if we have to do a second run (I'm so excited we get a second run!) it's way better than them being stuck with tons of merchandise they now have to pay to house somewhere. Thank you so much, to everyone involved, for giving us awesome new ways to support you AND get cool stuff from it.

If you still had some, I'd get one or two, or you guys would be sold out. I am so happy you guys sold out so fast. Yes, it means I didn't get one. That's honestly awesome, because it means you get to make more of both this, and other awesome shit you all think of. Maybe I'll get some of that, or maybe I won't luck out then either. But I know my Wednesday dose of RP, and the streams and extra content will be there. Hell yeah.

People who already have Gurplers feel like they NEED to buy it because it's different from the 3 Gurplers they already have... This should be a better chance for those who haven't had an opportunity to secure a Gurpler. Just please, for the love of god, if you already have one of these Gurplers, sit this one out.

2024-11-23 13:35:40 +0000 UTCThey mentioned it in the stream, but most of the orders that Eric could see at the time were 1 or two gurplers at most having been ordered by the same person, so I think it's less likely that a small number of people got what they wanted but a larger than supply amount of people wanted them and were subsequently disappointed

With my schedule I am fast asleep during normal hours and these seemingly sold out within 15 minutes. I even set an alarm and ruined my sleep just to see sold out like every single merchandise drop you guys have ever done. Would be nice to see some "print on demand" products besides shirts so that those of us who are patreon supporters that hold atypical schedules aren't locked out of the good merch forever.

You had the same chance as everyone else. They took a massive gamble on 4 thousand cups and clearly the demand was higher. They committed to a bigger restock live on air the moment they sold out. If you think your time is being wasted you are not seeing the full picture here.

When I went to get mine I was happy to learn that 4000 had sold out in that time frame then was even more happy when I learned it sold out in minutes because I knew how much thought and calculation and work the reg crew put into this launch. I’m fine in knowing that I will eventually get one but kinda glad I wasn’t able to. Congrats to the regulation crew for this epic win and thanks to Andrew for your appreciation and love, right back at ya bud. So happy for you guys, respectfully from an extra medium member. I think 5000 more should be doubled, they'll sell...clearly.

Having that made it so I didn't have to put my address or card info in and was in the 2 minute que instead of 4+ and missing out. Hopefully everyone else who wants one will be able to in February, but thankfully I'll have mine in time for it to be under my Christmas tree.

I also didn't get one today, however I'm more excited for them and this community that there is so much support than I am bummed out not getting one. Not only did they already order more, also on the stream today Geoff said that they will keep ordering them as long as people are buying them and there ultimate goal is to have it as a regulation item that is available in the store all the time.

(I also did not get one this time, and thats okay) They explained throughly why it was "only" 4000 (thats an insane amount for a independent company, come on), they explain why there is no preorder, they explained that the reorder is already underway. It is a plastic cup that will be restocked, you will survive and there will be plenty of content for you to pass the time with while we all wait for the restock. If you want this podcast and company to be successful. They need to build it slowly so it doesn't collapse. The company is not even a year old, and they have already had an amazing merch drop. I am proud of this crew and can't wait to continue to enjoy everything they do.

They already explained that the costs to order more was too much for them to feel comfortable if they didn't sell them all. They are protecting the company so they can continue to provide the content we all enjoy. At the end of the day, its a plastic cup. They are ordering more, and in the meantime we will get a ton of content that we will enjoy.

The time/energy wasted trying to get these at a drop is ridiculous. They have decades of experience in this industry, and an pre-existing clientele with a track record. If they actually thought that 4000 would be enough it was nieve at best. It not like the straw doesn't work or a clock with only two numbers. This item has a proven itself. They need to have faith in themselves and invest intelligently on themselves.

It is extremely frustrating when it constantly seems to be that I set up for the day, schedule the wait in, get there and click checkout in less than a minute, and then get nothing every time something I'm interested in getting launches. It is aggravating when it has happened so many times and you just feel forgotten about when Geoff says, "Well, I'm glad everyone who wanted one got one," in the stream.

Look at all the people that are commenting here saying they didn't get one either there is probably about 2-3 hundred just on the patreon saying they didn't get one. There is no telling how many aren't here that also didn't get one. 4000 of any product for a company this new is a crazy amount to hope to sell, to do it in minuets is just insane. Trust that they will keep ordering more as they sell out and for those that already got their gurps let's all abstain from the next drop for at least 24hrs so that those that don't have one have a better chance of getting one next time. This was my first one I was able to get and I tried for all the others.

I might be alone here but I'd love if you guys did some higher quality/cost clothing like The Yard podcast does instead of just screen printed cotton tees. Don't get me wrong, there are some cool screen printed cotton tees, but I'd rather pay $60-100 for one high quality Regulation cardigan or something than get five $20 cheap t-shirts. I'll buy merch one of these days anyway, but would give my left arm for some really nice quality clothing merch! I know you guys want to make things accessible to as many people as possible though, so cost prohibitive items may not be on the table.

I do trust the team to do what they say they're going to do and they have built up enough good will over not just their time as Regulation but also under the previous administration...but can I suggest they also sell cardboard Gurpler cutouts like they had to do for the original Star Wars toys back in 1977? I imagine giving my friend a cardboard Gurpler cutout and saying "Yeah, I wanted to get you one of these but you've got to wait until the spring when the come to stores" and we could all have a laugh about it.
