Auction Shopping // Regulation Supplemental - Patreon Ad-Free

Andrew has found another movie auction and AN EGG all get together to do some shopping. Join them as they pour through pages of props, getting sidetracked along the way with stuff that looks cool from movies they like but are the price tags too hefty for this now independent channel? Whoa is that Crow T. Robot?

Ok.. Firstly. One of you guys have to forward that muppets pin to Elyse Willems.... And then it occurred to me. I think a wierd supplemental with elyse could be fucking amazing. Elyse and Andrew on the same voice call is gold in the making. I'm sure some crazy idea will come up... perhaps... one that needs an impartial (but hilarious) judge?

Murk

why do they always in every piece of content that mentions a film just hate every movie ever made ever? everything sucks, no sequel is good, everything "flopped" just everything is bad. especially eric is the most hateful.

Chase Pendleton

In clone wars maybe, but in the movies he had little screen time and lasted like 5 seconds against Palps. I don't even know if they ever say his name in the movies, I didn't know he even existed until I watched clone wars

Ozpib

I like how Eric was making fun of there being a Kit Fisto item, but the character unironically rules

Preston Collins

you mean Jason X Geoff? there is no such thing as "Jason in space"... you always were quick to throw shade with zero facts...

Chase Pendleton

I live right across the river in Ohio. People around here inhale dogs year round.

Apathetic_Titan

I’m from West Virginia and I average maybe like 10 a year… some of these guys in the backwoods must be really dogging hard

Toly

I think it’s just video which makes sense it’s very video dependent

Bisping

Please use my money to keep bidding on things. I love to content and I’m glad you guys are in a place where you have funds to build up the regulation museum. I don’t understand why people would expect you to switch up from who you have been the whole time. I bet the people complaining about bidding on props loved when you guys were able to get the tuxedo. Don’t change. I was a first member / RT sponsor for close to 10 years, I will continue to support this group for as long as you make content.

Kota Senpai

I think they explained it pretty well, they have a pretty limited budget, and, while the estimated was quite low, the bids that were already on the items means they probably won't be able to get them anyway and if they can it would be WAY too expensive

Austin Rambo

You read my mind. I appreciate them, G&G have been making me laugh for 12 years, and I want to keep supporting them & their ability to do so, but yeah I feel like they could've maybe said, "Hey everyone, we're lucky enough to be doing well enough to splurge on something cool, here's what we're thinking". Just not where I imagined my money was going.

Zack Allen

So instead of Snake Eyes it'll be Rat Eyes? Rodent Eyes?

Arrow

“This is craaszy! This is so cool! This sucks! This is awesome!” - Eric “So Little” BadDoor 2024

I agree with you Hex, the reason I've canceled is I was under the impression that we were supporting people who had recently lost their jobs and needed our support to live and make content for us. I don't need to be paying 10 bucks a month to people who can recklessly spend 2500+ on something that won't contribute to much content. My comment and all the others expressed which props they'd rather them buy, my comment is the definition of feedback whether I remain a patron or not. I'm not telling other people to unsubscribe, but I have realized I am paying for something that I don't care to contribute to, especially since I don't think their patreon and youtube have differences right now. If my 10 dollars a month is going to a random, blind 2500+ spend every 3 months with no collaboration with the crew or audience then I don't care to spend 10 dollars a month. With that said, it is their money and I don't care how they spend it, but I'm also allowed to not give them the money... I liked the vid up until the bid was already placed and the auction ended on the 17th of last month. Had the community been involved (especially the patrons), or even the crew deliberated and been more responsible with the money in terms of return for the audience then I would have been fine with the spend. If you gave a child 20 bucks and they bought a 20 dollar shirt and wore it once, you wouldn't give the kid 20 dollars again.

Honza

I share your concerns, and voiced as much in my own comment above. However, I think ending support because of this video (while entirely your decision to make) is akin to, "I was feeling better, so I stopped taking my medicine". I think the better discourse is to share our feedback with the crew and give them the opportunity to react. From what I've read, is it correct to say you feel that, "As a Patron, I feel that my contributions should go towards producing content, and I feel that using Patreon funds to bid on these props may not be sufficiently contributing towards content"? If I've properly understood your reaction, I think the most productive thing to do as Patrons is to share as much with the crew and suggest what we would like to see instead. I mentioned above, but my personal suggestion would be a live-action, cheap recreation of the Snake Eyes trailer featuring Eric in the suit (and maybe the other guys playing the other characters from the movie). What would you like to see them do to make the prop purchases into entertaining content worthy of your contributions?

Hex

Not implying they are. In fact, I specifically called out that I have faith in their decision making with all of their combined experience in the content creator space. Its not our place as Patrons to get to police how they spend their money, but we do have the ability to at any point decide if we want to continue our support, and its for that reason that I decided to pass along the feedback. As I also mentioned, my personal support isn't wavering, but I AM concerned for the optics of the video and that if they do a series like this some Patrons' support might. As other comments have echoed, I think we just want to know how these things will contribute to an audio podcast. So few ideas were mentioned in the video aside from a photo shoot with Eric in the Snake Eyes suite. Instead of focusing on the negative here, let's look to how these props could be incorporated into more content. I, for one, would love to see them reshoot the Snake Eyes trailer with Eric in the suite to promote the release of the Let's Watch. It wouldn't have to be a huge production like Mega64 does, but something with Eric's doing a Nic Cage impression would be choice.

Hex

Sure, I guess I just felt like at first the point of the patreon was to support the guys. At some point that switched and the guys are comfortable financially so I can end my sub in peace at this point

Honza

SAME

Kevin Tester

I'm sure that it's an affordable expense. They wouldn't risk they're livelihood or detriment their other content for this. Be logical bud.

Kevin Tester

I respectfully disagree. This is exactly who they are and what they do.... And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Kevin Tester

Agreed

Kevin Tester

I think it's absurd that they're not leaning more towards the Halo stuff. This company wouldn't exist if rooster teeth never did. Rooster teeth only existed because of halo. This is absurd...

Kevin Tester

Can my $25 for the month go to getting an Eric photoshoot so I can hang the posters in my room?

Richard

1hr 31min of goeff whistling at every high price lol

Nikhil

This never came up on my Spotify feed, is it a glitch or just video content?

numbr87

Thank you so much for the support. We do our best to vocalize it but I hope it's felt how much the support means to us and enables all the content we produce. Not every piece of content may connect with everyone but everything is done with intense thoughtfulness in regards to the audience. We take nothing for granted and always lead with trying to do right by the community. Thank you for vocalizing that perspective as it's a totally valid concern. I hope to just continue to build trust in that regard and to make sure it's always known and felt how appreciated and impactful the support here is to us.

Regulationpod

In The Mouth of Madness is my favorite movie.

Brian Burkhardt

I dont know why but this makes me worry lol. I hope y’all have the capital for this. It was a fun video either way.

Jeff Freeman

Please take my money for a Halo pistol 💚

Chris Buckley

This rules

Garzagulon Tobbz

Other than keeping you guys alive, this is exactly what I hoped my patreon subscription would fund.

Thomas

I’m just a fan of them going through catalogs. They don’t need to buy anything just browse and discuss lol. The Christmas catalog video was really fun to watch. We need more

Woodrugh

My guess is for whenever they do sausage talk at the office. Also, it's a tax write-off lol

Kng Sht

100% agreed. Wanna support the guys but I need groceries more than an audio podcast needs visual gags.

Zack Allen

Loved the vid but it made me sad when the bid was already put on that suit, so many better props came up beforehand imo. Benji being the winner but the halo stuff was so cool also, and better priced. Super bummed there wasn't any kind of discussion. Also, being a patreon supporter, I wanted to support the group post-RT rather than fund 2500 bids on props. Just my 2 cents, I may be a minority on that. I felt like we were supporting the FF/RP crew with patreon subs rather than feeding the bank account to bid on some props that probably won't end up in a lot of content. If the patreon isn't directly supporting content then I think it's not for me

Honza

I didn't even hear Gavin.

Knowva Llewelyn

Gavin's "in 2015?" had me rolling and seems like he just let it go

KVLT

I so so so so want to be able to afford that Battle Rifle. It's the main weapon that carried me through Halo 2 with its three round burst helping me with my poor accuracy on the controller back in the day.

Roger Flynn

as delightful as this was, that's a lot of dollarbucks to drop on props that might see minimal to no use channel wise. (Excepting the Snake Eyes suit and accessories) Also those original facehugger props were on Gav's mate Adam Savage's youtube a few weeks ago, so that's rad

Darth-Jasonus

Love this so much we need more of these also THE MECHS FROM ROBOT JOX OMG

NerdTronJJ

I'm not a movie poster guy at all, but I would absolutely buy ALL of the Eric Snake Eyes posters

DT Hugo

Making a Regulation Registration that I would like my Patreon money to go towards Eric getting the Snake Eyes suit

Dirk Bogan

I hope they get Benji!!

sugarpuss

Couldn't agree more. what are props for when its audio only? But i will continue my year subscription cause i'm Addicted to the chaos podcast<3

Joakim XwIIcK Lundberg

I don't mean to sound like a downer, but am I the only one that has reservations about them spending money on movie props? Don't get me wrong, this video was a delight to watch and the Tuxedo was a classic FF/RP moment, but it was distinctly different in my mind when Rooster Teeth/Warner Bros was paying for it compared to when its funded primarily by Patreon. Ultimately, I have faith the crew know what they are doing with as much combined experience as they have, I think I just wish they had discussed more about how these things would be incorporated into content so it didn't come across like they were just buying cool things to have. There won't be a "museum" anymore without an RTX, and almost all their content since RT has been voice-only, so in what way will we see this stuff incorporated into the Regulation cannon? I'm still all-in on supporting the crew, I just think they might have rolled *snake eyes* on this specific video (pun intended).

Hex

Having thought about it for a few hours. I would have hoped you spent my money on traveling to the bean hole thing, FINALLY visiting Andrew etc.. But stil here for it!

Joakim XwIIcK Lundberg

N EGG: Hopefully we can find something cool to bid on! A, with a Snake Eyes-sized hole in his wallet: 👀

Booper2ooper

Snake Eyes movie scene reenactments calendar is gonna be amazing

Zach Anaya

this was so fun to watch

Rebecca @geoffslaugh

The halo stuff looked really cool but I really would love to see gav in the pink panther outfit next to Eric in the suit from snake eyes

Dinkleberg65

I will not stand for the Rollerball slander

Blake Johnson

Nick wanting basically everything he sees as if he's never wanted anything more in his life is exactly what it's like taking your kid to the toy section of a store and it's great

Gauge Minns

This is what my sub goes to. I'm completely ALL for this! <3

Offbeat Creates

Gracie deserved to be here for this decision. 😂

killnjoke_8701

I really hope they sprung for Benji

Lukow

Hearing Eric yell about Kit Fisto made me have flashbacks to the Internet Box days

Hunter Rosenbalm-Fabrao

That plasma pistol sold for only 1250 including buyers premium. I bet they got it.

Jake Matthew

MST3K movie had This Island Earth! So funny!!!

Russell Richardson

Not sure if our votes count, but I'd say: 1. Halo Pistol 2. Halo BR 3. Pink Panther Suit 4. Benji

Dhuvy

This was fucking awesome. I cannot wait for the auction video where Eric will freak the fuck out during the bidding of the snake eyes items.

josh thomas

Geoff again brings up the Mel Gibson Lethal Weapon thing lol. I thought I was listening to an old episode of FF again.

Anthony Caldwell

Thanks for all the hard work on these videos/podcasts lads

Joakim XwIIcK Lundberg

I think there's a clear winner between their final selection. Only one of the auctions made ALL of them uncontrollably laugh, and that was Benji. IT WAS ALWAYS BENJI.

Duchess Worldwide, Inc. Duchess Worldwide, Inc

Two things: The hat from the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man can totally fit on Andrew's head. If the size in the movie. The clown from Poltergeist is the remake clown. Not as scary, but I know what you mean Geoff. I haven't finished, just wanted to make observations as I see them in the moment.

Knowva Llewelyn

LFG!!!

Dijon

This is another exciting supplemental!
