I'll probably do one more week of this. I took sooo many photos on this trip I'm having such a hard time choosing which ones to use T__T
The first one is the Xinjiang International Big Bazaar, where we went on Chinese New Year day. We went super early to bypass the crowd hours. It was really really cool, there was a naan museum, traditional dancing performances, and loooots of street food, which I should have taken photos of ahhh (I was too busy eating)
Second is the leaning tower at the Tiger Pavilion garden in Suzhou. It's a massive garden, we didn't get to explore the whole thing in the day we had there.
Third one is a restaurant we went to in Xinjiang. I swear to god they have some of the best noodles. Northern China's staple food isn't rice (which is southern China's staple food) but flour based noodles and buns, and everything there is handmade so it's super chewy and hearty. There are all sorts of lamb and beef dishes there (no pork because it's a muslim majority region) and the meat is So. Good. I used to not like lamb meat because the kind you have in Canada has a particular mutton stink to them (partly because they're often frozen) that you need cooking wine to get rid of, and even with cooking wine it's like a 50% chance of getting rid of the stink. The meat here was so juicy and fresh... gosh I miss it already
