Happy belated birthday Amber! So the shiny thing in Seath's lair is an artifact that makes him immortal. I believe that this was the discovery he was looking for in his research and what eventually ruined everything according to the lore. If you don't destroy it, you can't damage him (so you wouldn't have been able to kill him during your first encounter either). Seath did that work you though. Looks like he was finally over his immortal life. If you free Big Hat Logan beforehand, he will tell you about this. You might want to read the descriptions of the two spells you picked up in the jail btw. This text, together with the maiden outfit you found, may give you some hints about where those slimeys came from...

2023-08-02 18:09:44 +0000 UTCI truly hope that you explore the DLC too. There are certain area's in DS that feel rushed due to their production woes. It was not a cheap game to create. And that DLC is a nice break from that feeling.

The area leading up to it is great with the creepy music, the Pisaca's (blue slimy tentacle things), the turning stairs and stuff... and then you get invisible bridges :( You got through it pretty well though! Well done on Seath and getting the 3rd of 4 Lord Souls! That ring you saw at the top of the elevator is a "resonance". Basically someone recently used a miracle there and the next healing or "force type" miracle you use will use that resonance to get a boost (or 3 of them at once to get a bigger boost, but that shit's RARE). It's a very odd mechanic, but cool when you get to use it! Don't worry about some magic spells being later in the game. The ones you get earlier can easily carry you through to the later ones. Magic is quite good all around :) On to the next one! Getting close to the end now, remember to do the DLC, it's really hard to find it on your own, so let us know if you need some little hints here and there :D

2023-08-01 12:31:44 +0000 UTCDon't know if anyone's mentioned to you yet, but you need to do the DLC before completing the game—completing the game (defeating the final boss) immediately ends the game/starts new game+, so you miss out on the DLC then. The final boss is quite obvious, and you can do literally everything up to that point with no worries—you can even walk into the boss room and check him out before letting yourself die/homeward boning if you decide you want to do other things before completing the game :) You don't even have to worry about that until you've done the filling the Lordvessel part you're already on Starting the DLC is also quite cryptic, so don't feel bad if you have to look up the steps (or ask someone for minimal spoilers). (Sorry for repost after commenting this on part 12, just important to make sure it's not missed)
