Dark Souls Part 12!

Thanks for being so understanding on the last post 🧡

full disclosure I haven't had time to check this over yet so there's probably awkward cuts here and there haha

Dark Souls Part 12!

Comments

You've noticed that something is not quite right at Anor Londo... if this were any other game you would be tempted to think that it was just bad writing. But this is Dark Souls, so maybe there is something else going on.

When you are cutting onions, cut them near the sink and just have the tap running it will prevent your eyes from getting irritated.

Wow I actually didn't know about all those buffs Humanity gives you (other than the boost to finding items). There's another thing you can use Humanity for that I do happen to know (because I looked it up recently during my own first playthrough): The hidden upgrade type weapons you mentioned use Humanity for extra damage scaling.

Aaah so you can rightfully ignore my Youtube comment on your previous video, because I see you already found the things I was hinting at there! You keep amazing me with your gameplay. Honestly, you seem to think you're playing badly and dying a lot; on the contrary, you one or two shot most bosses and only rack up a few deaths in each area, which is absolutely great performance, especially for a first time player! Most people playing this for the first time would die many many more times. In fact, that's possibly the reason why you don't find much value in Humanity, because so far you've hardly needed the kindling. Anyway, regarding Gwyndolin: if you'd kneeled for him, you could've joined his Blade of the Darkmoon covenant, which, like the Forest one, is mostly tied to PvP. The firekeeper at the Anor Londo bonfire attacked you for it, because she is part of that covenant as well. BTW, regarding the souls you get from bosses. You can use the services of the Giant blacksmith in Anor Londo to turn those into weapons. Just know that you need to have leveled specific weapon types to at least +10 in order for you to get offered the option to forge one. Each soul is tied to a specific weapon type and the weapons that the bosses themselves use are a hint to what sort of weapon you'd need. Anyway, looking forward to the next episode already! The upcoming area is one of my favorites in the game.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned to you yet, but you need to do the DLC before completing the game—completing the game (defeating the final boss) immediately ends the game/starts new game+, so you miss out on the DLC then. The final boss is quite obvious, and you can do literally everything up to that point with no worries—you can even walk into the boss room and check him out before letting yourself die/homeward boning if you decide you want to do other things before completing the game :) You don't even have to worry about that until you've done the filling the Lordvessel part you're already on Starting the DLC is also quite cryptic, so don't feel bad if you have to look up the steps (or ask someone for minimal spoilers). I'll post this comment again on your next episode just to make sure you see it, since this post is a couple days old :P The DLC is widely regarded as some of the (if not THE) best content in the game, so definitely worth making sure it's not missed

People say that using magic in Fromsoft games is easy mode, but I'd highly recommend using a staff instead of a shield in Elden Ring. Two of the starting classes come with staves and it's easy to do combos between magic and melee.

There is actually a bonfire right after the second piggy.

Well...? ...what kind of soup was it?

2 episodes so close to each other? You're spoiling us Amber! The Crestfallen Knight finally turned full hollow, so he lost his humanity and attacked you :( The idea that they literally sacrificed an ENTIRE CITY, all those innocent people, to contain the Dark Wraiths and the Abyss is crazy to me. The Abyss does turn out to be a pretty big issue though, so who knows, maybe they were right. Humanity is great! it gives resistances to magic, fire and lightning, defenses and, up to a maximum of 10, extra item finding chance. You also recover it when you pick up your bloodstain, so as long as you can kinda reliably do that you never lose em :D Creating boss weapons is slightly obtuse. You need a correct weapon type at +10 to upgrade to a boss weapon, but you can only see whether or not you have a correct weapon AFTER you're at +10... it's not the best design if i'm honest haha. Vamos is such a weird blacksmith. Hard to find, only upgrades to fire (and another "hidden" upgrade type) and his voice over sounds like he was speaking into a completely blown out mic (i love the effect personally though) Dark Souls 2 is actually a good candidate for a magic run. There's a lot of spells in it, and it's plenty strong as well! Sorry I seem to always make these comments really long, I just really love the souls series and like just talking about them whenever I get the chance haha. I'll try to be more concise next time around But anyway, 2 of 4 lord souls acquired, making some strong progress :D On the the next one, let's keep that momentum going!

A magic run for Dark Souls 2 would be amazing! I like to see the different builds you’ve been doing, makes it easier to decide between each play style.
