HOW A SONG GETS CHOSEN TO BE PLAYED IN WALMART AND OTHER STORES
Walmart's music [and all the companies owned by it] comes from their radio station, Walmart World Radio, which broadcasts in stores, online, and in clubs and offices. They have actual DJs and several shows. They report their spins to billboard and other charts just like other radio stations.

You always bring us such interesting information. Thanks! I know that "corporate" radio existed but didn't know it could be reported as regular radio to BB. I remember something about being able to subscribe to a 'radio station' for music for your establishment.

I know back in the ancient dinosaur era I bought my first MP3 player. I refused to buy an Apple iPod... so I had to figure out how to download music without using Apple... and found out Walmart had a way to do it back then. So my first downloads (other than what I ripped from my own CDs) came from Walmart. Later I got them from Amazon Music... which I need to get back to using more.
