CONFIDENTIAL: EST. REVENUE OF V's EXHIBIT & JIMIN'S POP UP

I asked the managers on deck of the exhibit and pop up how many people they have in a day and other questions.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU HAVE IN A DAY?

V's EXHIBIT: 1500/day

JIMIN'S POP UP: 4,000/day

The massive difference may be credited to the difference in its nature. V's exhibit is subdued because it is, well, an exhibit. It's art so there's a certain amount calmness. Hence, a controlled amount of people going in.

Jimin's pop up is a party, so they aren't really concerned about the crowd. Although they make sure they comply with the number of people the venue holds, they can still accommodate more than V's exhibit.

Also, Jimin's pop up is a open space and 3 floors. V's exhibit is really designed so things are divided into sections. There are also less "floor space" for people because of the gigantic installations.

V's exhibit is slated to go around the world. No word on Jimin's pop up for now.

I will still assume they are exaggerating and say:

V's exhibit accommodates 1,000/day

Jimin's pop up accommodates 3,000/day

Here's the interesting thing. They have more transactions in a day than traffic. This means people split their transactions or "they go twice" in order to buy more merch (there's a limit in the qty of items they can buy. And if your total goes a certain amount, you get something for free.

Some people split their transaction so they can get more freebies.

V's exhibit: 2,000 transactions

Jimin's transaction 5,500/day

Again, I will  be conservative and say:

V's exhibit: 1,500 transactions

Jimin's transaction 3,500/day

Other things I learned according to the estimates of people on ground:

99% of attendees purchase something.

95% of attendees purchase an album (in Jimin's case).

They said their estimate is that each person spends $150 for Jimin's pop up and $100 for V's exhibition.

I'm the queen of conservative estimates. so

JIMIN'S POP UP : $75/transaction

V'S EXHIBIT: $75/transaction

JIMIN'S GROSS REVENUE:

3,500 a day x 7 days (pop runs a week) = 24,500 transactions

24,500 transactions x $75 average spend per transaction = $1,837,500  

V's EXHIBIT REVENUE (SEOUL ONLY):

1,500 a day x 9 days = 13,500 transactions

13,500 transactions x $75 average spend per transaction = $1,012,500

NOTE: Take this with a grain of salt. While I am sure I spoke with the manager on deck, they weren't holding kind of document when I was talking with them. They are answering my questions from memory.

Therefore, I prefer not to share this publicly since I have no tangible proof to back it up . I just wanted to share this fun story with you.
