There are 4 films that make me super emotional, 1. This film (UP) , 2. Finding Nemo, 3. A Man Called Otto, and 4. IF…I would recommend watching A Man Called Otto and IF. UP makes me emotional because as a kid, I was an introverted version of Russell. Same type of broken family, and unfortunately did not get the same outcome as Russell. This movie also oddly reminds me of another Disney film called The Great Mouse Detective.

So glad you got to see it. also: YES stranger things!!

I never watched it, since I don't do well with scary scenes and jumpscares, but I have heard so many positive things about it and I find that watching anything in that genre via your reactions is much less scary xD Otherwise reactions to Heartstopper, Percy Jackson or Buffy the Vampire Slayer would also be amazing. (And yes, I am aware that these suggestions could not be more different from each other, but they are all amazing in their own way)

I really enjoyed watching it properly for the first time along with you :) On another note, if you are willing to share, what are the books you have in your shelf there? I've been curious since I first noticed them, but I can't quite make out the titles xD

2024-05-11 18:32:15 +0000 UTCThis movie hits differently since losing my husband six months ago. Dealing with grief alone is awful. If you're fortunate, you have people you can call on to take you out of yourself the way Carl does for Ellie and eventually the way Russel does for Carl.

You can get Ellie’s adventure book at the Disney parks, which I think is a great merch idea. There’s a popular theory that Paradise Falls holds the fountain of youth, which would explain why Muntz is still alive and Carl gets more energetic and agile the longer he’s there. Russel isn’t a name in Sweden, so for the Swedish dub they actually called him Oskar (though I’ve always wondered why they didn’t go with Rasmus, or something else beginning with R). Kevin isn’t a traditional Swedish name either but around the time the movie came out some people were calling their sons that; even so they called the bird Kenneth in the dub instead (which I think is kind of hilarious). And YES to ”Stranger Things”! I would so be onboard for that. The first two seasons are for the most part fantastic. Season 3 is weaker IMHO but still enjoyable. Season 4 is honestly one of the best seasons I’ve seen of any show. I think you would love it.

These days your videos are the ones I get the most excited about, I love the Disney stuff but even more variety would be awesome too! Also I might have mentioned it before, but if you haven't seen 2015's Tomorrowland with George Clooney I would love to see your reaction to it. It's one of my favorite films from the past decade, severely underappreciated IMO, and I think you would see all the charm, heart, and creativity in it. It's one of the most original premises I've seen come out of a major studio like Disney in a LONG time.

2024-05-11 07:28:15 +0000 UTCI saw this at a time when I was grappling with the possibility that I might not be able to have children, so...YEAH THAT WAS FUN 🤣 It's wonderfully balanced, and I think that they get away with that four minute masterpiece *because* the rest of the movie is so silly and free. Classic Pixar, before Disney got control, is unbeatable.
